Construction starts on the country’s largest social housing project

Vinhomes Joint Stock Company (Vingroup) started construction on the Happy Home social housing project in Cam Nghia Ward, Cam Ranh City on January 11.

Social housing project covers more than 87ha

​Happy Home social housing project covers 87.64 ha with nearly 3,600 low-rise social housing apartments and nearly 540 semi-detached apartments in a commercial housing area. The total investment capital of the project is expected to be nearly VND3,800 billion.

The project is designed to have synchronous infrastructures with the landscape, modern facilities such as an entertainment center, an outdoor sports area, children's playground, green space and so on. In addition, there are also commercial service facilities such as a shopping center, a supermarket, markets and offices. In addition, the project also has a full range of social infrastructures, including a medical station, schools, etc.

The project is located close to the National Highway 1 and is an important project in subdivision 3 of the Cam Ranh Bay Urban Area Project; conveniently connected to Cam Ranh International Airport, a key tourist service area in the country’s largest airport urban area.

The project known as the largest social housing project in the country so far is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Nguyen Viet Quang, Vice-Chairman and General Director of Vingroup confirmed, "The Happy Home Social Housing Project is the 4th social housing project developed by Vinhomes Joint Stock Company in Vietnam and the second one ever started since the beginning of 2024.

The project promises to create a premise for Khanh Hoa to become one of the first localities to achieve the national goal of social housing development; creating an important motivation for the province to attract investors; and promote local economic development, contributing to the goal of becoming a modern centrally-governed city by 2030."

Contributing to the fulfillment of Central resolutions

In the period 2021 - 2030, the demand for social housing is forecast to increase by 44,461 apartments by 2025 and 46,066 by 2030. In recent years, the labor force in service businesses, industrial parks, etc. in Khanh Hoa has increased rapidly, posing new challenges in terms of population growth and housing supply.

According to the Government's Project "construction of at least 1 million social housing apartments for low-income people and industrial park workers in the period 2021 - 2030", Khanh Hoa Province is allocated to build 3,400 apartments in the period 2022 - 2025 and 4,400 in the period 2026 - 2030. The province is expected to complete more than 4,800 social apartments in the period 2022 - 2025.

According to Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Tan Tuan, Happy Home is one of two key social housing projects approved in principle by Khanh Hoa from mid-2023, announced at the provincial conference on Investment promotion and planning announcement. The large-scale social housing project in Cam Nghia Ward is a milestone, resulting from the efforts and consensus of the entire political system and investors. This event has contributed to concretizing the Politburo's Resolution No. 09 on the construction and development of Khanh Hoa Province till 2030 with a vision till 2045.

Nguyen Tan Tuan, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee: The Vinhomes' synchronous investment in Cam Ranh City in particular and Khanh Hoa Province in general has contributed to improving the social security and developing local urban infrastructures; meeting social housing demands of residents and workers. On behalf of the provincial leaders, I appreciate the departments, agencies and investor for drastically implementing the project procedures. Hopefully, with the drastic direction of the Central Committee, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee and the close coordination of departments and agencies, the Happy Home social housing project will be put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2026 or even sooner.
