Fire prevention and control focused

Van Ninh District has boosted fire prevention and control propaganda and training, raising public awareness of roles, duties and responsibilities for keeping fire safety and preparedness

In December 2023, Van Ninh District People's Committee in cooperation with Khanh Hoa Fire Police Department provided fire safety training for 150 safeguard members in 13 communes and towns. The training included the fire prevention and control law, the campaign on all people to join fire prevention and control campaign; fire safety tips and how to use fire equipment available.

Nguyen Le Ngoc Qua, a member of Van Binh Commune's civil defense team said, "This training is very helpful for me in terms of knowledge and skills in fire and explosion emergencies. I will share the knowledge and skills with others in my community."

Le Hong Phong High School has also recently coordinated with the District Police’s Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Region 3 to boost fire prevention propaganda and training for teachers and students, helping to raise awareness of fire and explosion prevention and control; and equip them with skills to be safe from fire and explosive hazards with emergency preparedness and response capabilities.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Ly Hai Chien, Deputy Head of Van Ninh District Public Security, fire prevention and control has been boosted via various means such as loudspeakers, community meetings, etc. In 2023, the district held more than 460 propaganda sessions for over 30.000 arrivals in the community and over 50 sessions for nearly 20,000 students and teachers.

In addition, the district has focused on strengthening the grassroots fire prevention force with 78 civil defense teams with 802 members, 77 grassroots fire fighting teams with 754 members; established 8 fire safety family groups to help reduce fire risks from the beginning, and 24 models of public fire safety equipment locations. More than 22,000 households have been equipped with fire extinguishers; 20,000 people have been instructed to install and use the 114 Fire Alarm app...

In 2023, the district police coordinated with other units to offer 150 fire extinguishers to disadvantaged families; jointly provided fire prevention and fighting training for more than 500 members of the grassroots fire prevention and fighting teams; organized fire fighting training sessions in the community, at workplaces, at schools, etc., helping raise fire safety awareness, contributing to eradicating fire incidents completely from the beginning, thereby preventing potential destruction.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Ly Hai Chien, in the coming time, the District Police will continue providing consultancy for the District People's Committee in fire safety inspection during the peak holiday period; jointly strengthen propaganda and promote fire safety inspection, especially at establishments with many flammable and combustible materials, etc.
