Khanh Hoa mission pays working visit to Almaty City, Kazakhstan

Within the framework of the working visit to Kazakhstan, on January 30, Khanh Hoa Provincial mission led by Nguyen Hai Ninh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee visited Alisher Abdykadyrov, Deputy Mayor of Almaty City, Kazakhstan. Joining the mission was Vietnamese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Pham Thai Nhu Mai.

Alisher Abdykadyrov, Deputy Mayor of Almaty of Almaty City gave an overview of Almaty City development strategies; confirmed the cooperation between Almaty City and Khanh Hoa Province; and believed that Khanh Hoa tourism trade promotion conference scheduled to take place on January 31 will help promote the cooperative relationship between the two localities.

Alisher Abdykadyrov also notified Almaty City’s readiness for street naming after President Ho Chi Minh in Almaty on the 65th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Kazakhstan.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hai Ninh thanked Deputy Mayor Alisher Abdykadyrov for the warm welcome; affirmed that after Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s visit to Vietnam in 2023 and Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong’s working trip to Kazakhstan expected to be in June 2024, the cooperation between the two countries will reach a new height with more practical and effective activities.

Especially, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hai Ninh appreciated Almaty City for the readiness for signing a cooperation agreement between Almaty City and Khanh Hoa Province; and believed that the traditional friendship, the support of the two countries' leaders and direct flights between Khanh Hoa and Kazakhstan will open up opportunities for cooperation, particularly in the fields of tourism and commerce between the two countries. On this occasion, the Provincial Party Secretary invited Almaty City's Deputy Mayor to visit Khanh Hoa Province.

Ambassador Pham Thai Nhu Mai reaffirmed that the visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Vietnam is a historical event, very meaningful to the relationship between the two localities; expressed the delight over the preparation for street naming after President Ho Chi Minh in Kazakhstan; and hoped Almaty City leaders will support the signing of a cooperation agreement with Khanh Hoa Province.

On the afternoon of the same day, the provincial mission led by Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hai Ninh worked with Meirzhan Otynshiyev, Chairman of the Almaty Maslikhat. At the meeting, Chairman of the Almaty Maslikhat welcomed the delegation from Khanh Hoa Province and emphasized the strong relationship between Vietnam and Kazakhstan.

Otynshiyev shared about the Almaty City's development goals and readiness to cooperate with Khanh Hoa in the fields of industry, tourism and culture; as well as supporting development cooperation between Vietnam and Kazakhstan.

On behalf of the mission, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hai Ninh thanked Chairman of the Almaty Maslikhat for the warm welcome. The  working trip was to enhance the understanding and political trust; further the cooperation between Khanh Hoa Province and Almaty City; and promote tourism and trade development with Kazakhstan in general and Almaty City in particular with air trade between Kazakhstan and Khanh Hoa through Cam Ranh International Airport.

The Provincial Party Secretary shared the orientation for industrial and logistics development in Van Phong Economic Zone and hoped to attract Kazakh investors in the petrochemical sector; the development orientation of Khanh Hoa to become a centrally-governed city by 2030, opening up investment opportunities for domestic and foreign businesses.

On this occasion, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee invited Chairman of the Almaty Maslikhat and delegates to pay a working visit to Khanh Hoa.
