Southern Coach Station construction nears completion

After 5 months of construction, the  Southern Coach Station project has neared completion and is being accelerated to ensure the construction is put into operation before the coming Lunar New Year 2024, helping to facilitate travel in Khanh Hoa Province.

Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee decided to invest in infrastructures for Southern Coach Station in 2015 on an area of nearly 4.2ha with a total capital of more than VND15.2 billion. The investor is Khanh Hoa Management Board of Construction Projects.

Southern Coach Station will be put into service soon.

Southern Coach Station is situated close to the intersection of the National Highway 1 with Vo Nguyen Giap Street in Dien Toan Commune, Dien Khanh District. The coach station has a land use area of over 2.1ha, including parking space, a waiting room, booking offices, a management office, a garage and other ancillary works. The project has a total capital of approximately VND109 billion.

According to Nguyen Ly Minh Quan - Deputy General Director of Khanh Hoa Coach Station and Transportation Services Company, the project was scheduled to put into operation on December 31, 2023. The delay was due to the adverse weather with downpours for several days.

The construction has been 90% complete so far. Work progress is being sped up with a large amount of building materials gathered at the construction site. The final stage is being accelerated so that the construction will be put into operation before the Lunar New Year 2024.

According to Nguyen Van Dan, Director of the Department of Transport, the Southern Coach Station is to serve the transportation of goods and passengers, ensuring connectivity with the transportation inside and outside the province, contributing to boosting local socio-economic development.

As soon as the new construction is put into service, its location in Vinh Trung Commune (Nha Trang City) will be returned to its former state. The newly-built coach station is situated in a convenient location, at the key intersection of inter-provincial and inter-district routes. Therefore, the coach station is expected to create momentum for the development of the province's transportation sector.
