Urban innovation and decoration for New Year

Urban innovation and decoration for the coming New Year holiday are underway in Nha Trang City. Urban Environment Company workers are busy trimming and ornamenting plants along streets, at roundabouts and parks for the coming Lunar New Year or Tet.

For a green, clean and beautiful city

According to Nguyen Dong Tan, Head of a tree pruning team (Nha Trang Urban Environment Joint Stock Company) with 20 years of experience, the company's tree pruning team has 25 members divided into small groups in charge of tree care, trimming and pruning which require skills as well as a good sense of aesthetics in order to create the healthy and attractive shapes.

For big pine trees at Nha Trang Beach Park, workers must use ladders to trim trees properly and keep dead branches from falling in the wrong spots. Smaller trees along median strips are trimmed in various shapes to make them appealing.

Workers also plant flowers and arrange them in a star shape at intersections in Nha Trang City during national holidays to enhance the city landscape. All workers are proud to contribute to the city appeal improvement and development.

New Year decoration

Currently, more than 10,000 street trees are under the care of Nha Trang Urban Environment Company and An Phong Urban Service Company. According to Nguyen Thi Minh Hien, Deputy Director of Nha Trang City Public Service Management Board, the urban decoration also includes innovation and illumination on main streets with small landscapes on Tran Phu Street; and plants on traffic islands; tree trimming along streets and at roundabouts together with street lighting maintenance.

In addition, lighting decoration is made on the streets of Le Thanh Ton, Yersin, Thai Nguyen, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai; innovation and illumination on main streets with small landscape at Phu Dong Park and around Tram Huong Tower, Tran Phu St. and median strips along Vanh Dai St., Vo Nguyen Giap St. and traffic islands to serve the decoration for the Lunar New Year together with the tree–planting campaign in memory of Uncle Ho.

The holiday street cleaning schedule has been made to ensure the city is clean and tidy before, during and after Tet, especially on the streets of Tran Phu, Pham Van Dong and on the coast of Vinh Tho and Vinh Nguyen; in tourist sites and on other main streets. Dustbins are placed in public places together with clean-up after events take place, at spring flower fairs and in the fireworks display site before the first morning of the Lunar New Year.
