Nha Trang City Public Security’s Fire Fighting and Rescue Team has boosted fire prevention and control propaganda and inspection to raise public awareness of responsibilities for maintaining fire safety and preparedness.
The Fire Fighting and Rescue Team members together with local police officers have taken fire prevention and control inspection of mini apartment buildings and provided fire safety guidance for residents and retailers. Families at Dam Market’s Apartment Building were instructed on how to use portable fire extinguishers for fire prevention and gas safety at home.

Thanks to practical propaganda, every shop on the ground floor of Dam Market’s Apartment Building has 2 or 3 portable fire extinguishers available. Together with signing fire safety pledges, residents have also joined fire safety family groups to help reduce fire risks from the beginning.
Besides, fire safety leaflets were distributed to residents in 27 communes and wards in the city. The fire prevention and control inspection and propaganda with fire safety leaflets distributed to retailers were carried out at Phuoc Thai Market, Phuoc Long Ward. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thinh, a grocery store retailer on Phuoc Long Street said her family keeps informed of fire and explosion prevention and control and makes sure gas and electrical safety checks are carried out when leaving home to help prevent fires and stay safe using gas and electrical appliances.
According to Ngo Khac Thinh, Deputy Chief of Phuoc Long Ward People’s Committee, Phuoc Long Ward has completed distributing fire safety leaflets to retailers and owners of mini apartment buildings in the locality. Along with mobilizing retailers to buy portable extinguishers, the ward has also provided fire safety training.
To strengthen propaganda to raise public awareness of fire and explosion protection, the City Public Security has provided consultancy for Nha Trang City People's Committee to print more than 130,000 propaganda leaflets to distribute to homes and business facilities in 27 communes and wards in the city, according to Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Chien, Head of Nha Trang City Police Fire Safety Team.
