Tourism and Trade Promotion Conference of Khanh Hoa Province in Kazakhstan

On January 31, in Almaty City, Kazakhstan, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee organized a Khanh Hoa Provincial Tourism and Trade Promotion Conference in Kazakhstan.

Present at the event were Nguyen Hai Ninh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Pham Thai Nhu Mai, Vietnamese Ambassador to Kazakhstan; Galiya Tokseitova, Director of Almaty City Department of Tourism together with representatives of more than 120 businesses in Kazakhstan.

The conference aimed to promote the destination of Khanh Hoa Province to businesses in Kazakhstan, focusing on introducing tourism and trade development potentials and key projects calling for investment.

In recent years, trade, economic and cultural relations between the two countries have been strengthened. Almaty City is a center for multilateral international cooperation in the region, experiencing dynamic tourism development with 40 direct flights from Almaty and visa exemption applied to 80 countries, Galiya Tokseitova spoke at the meeting.

The Director of Almaty City Department of Tourism emphasized that this conference included discussion about not only the potentials and ways to strengthen the cooperative relationship between the two sides, but also the interaction between the peoples of the 2 countries with rich cultural traditions. The Director of Almaty City Department of Tourism believed that Vietnam with its beautiful scenery and traditional history would offer special opportunities to Kazakhstani tourists and businesses, contributing to promoting the cooperative relationship.

On this occasion, leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade and Department of Tourism introduced favorable conditions, development orientation, potentials and opportunities for cooperation in developing trade and tourism in Khanh Hoa. Representatives of Kazakh businesses focused on discussing the potentials for logistics development; import and export of goods from Kazakhstan to Vietnam and vice versa; visa exemption for citizens of Kazakhstan; and medical tourism development.

Delegates appreciated the information Khanh Hoa Province had provided about the potentials and investment opportunities in trade and tourism sectors in Khanh Hoa.

Concluding the conference, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hai Ninh expressed his delight to attend the conference and interest in a cooperation agreement expected to be signed between Khanh Hoa Province and Almaty City.

The Provincial Party Secretary showed his desire to further promote the destination of Khanh Hoa to Kazakh tourists, thereby attracting more Kazakh tourists to Khanh Hoa and vice versa; and provide a link between businesses in Kazakhstan and Khanh Hoa Province with specific projects.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hai Ninh emphasized the possibility of cooperation in trade and cargo transport based on Khanh Hoa's strengths in the international airport; seafood and agricultural export; cooperation on cultural exchange and student exchange.

Besides, with the orientation of becoming a centrally-governed city by 2030, Khanh Hoa has great opportunities for both domestic and foreign investors in the process of upgrading infrastructures and many other criteria.

The National Assembly of Vietnam has issued a Resolution to pilot specific mechanisms and policies to develop Khanh Hoa Province with many incentives for investors, including Kazakh ones, especially in many fields in Van Phong Economic Zone).

Business to business (B2B) sessions were held with businesses in trade and tourism in Kazakhstan.

On the same day, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hai Ninh together with the delegation visited the memorial Museum of Kazakhstan D.Konayev in Almaty City. It was opened in 2002, on D.A. Kunaev’s 90th anniversary.

Besides the main building is a memorial house, 230m2, with more than 7,000 book titles and items from all over the world.  At the memorial museum also has photos of President Ho Chi Minh during his visit to Almaty City in 1959.
