After 1 year of pilot implementation with satisfactory results, the program “Khanh Hoa residents speak English” has expanded to 6/8 districts and towns across Khanh Hoa Province.
Bringing English to life
The program is developed for 5 years with a long-term goal of developing a learning society, popularizing English to all residents in the province, especially at State agencies, schools and trade establishments, tourist sites, etc.
The program is chaired by the Provincial People's Committee with the Provincial Youth Union as a standing agency, and Vingroup as a sponsor and implementation connector. The program was officially launched in Nha Trang City on January 11, 2023 and in Cam Lam District on March 3, 2023, targeting 5 main groups, including students, officers, employees, retailers and workers.

Bui Thu Dung, Director of the project said, the program is designed to improve speaking skills with the support of volunteers to help the program reach all locals and create an English-speaking environment in the community.
Expanding
After 1 year of implementation, the program has organized a series of events to motivate English learning. The program has recruited 162 professional volunteers from different target groups; and established 172 English clubs operating every week. About 50,000 people in the province have participated in English-speaking events and campaigns in public places; and more than 12,000 people have taken part in English-speaking contests.
The program successfully organizes 2 two major contests, Road to the Peak of Knowledge and Master English - Master Your Life quarterly for English club members. 30 excellent winners have been awarded a tour to Vinpearl Ha Long. Other contests include the English Olympics, English-speaking Contest, etc.
8 English learning textbooks for taxi drivers, hotel and restaurant staff, medical staff, police and salesmen are used at basic and specialized English communication clubs. Online English communication classes for residents are held every Tuesday and Friday evening.
The program has moved on to the second phase officially launched in Cam Ranh, Ninh Hoa Town, Van Ninh District and Dien Khanh District, Numerous activities and events will continue to be deployed and promoted towards the goal of bringing English to life, contributing to tourism development and raising the competitiveness and promoting the brand of Khanh Hoa Province.
According to Tran Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Standing Deputy Head of the Program Steering Board for the program “Khanh Hoa residents speak English”, in the coming time, propaganda will be boosted such as introducing an English learning app; raising public awareness of the meaning of the program and the importance of English language in the process of international integration and a digital society via mass media, social media and other means of communication.
In addition, banners, posters, uniforms and badges will be designed to increase recognition of the program. According to the project roadmap, the program is expected to carry out the phase 3 in the 2 districts of Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh.
As a funding and implementation coordinator, Vingroup also provides support in terms of curriculum, human resources, communications and other finances. Capacity building support includes training for English clubs and volunteers; providing human resources such as a management board, lecturers, teachers, students of VinuNi University and Vinschool, volunteers from Vinpearl and other companies, domestic and foreign experts. Other communication and financial support includes rewards for students, volunteers and clubs with achievements, social media channels and key opinion leaders (KOL) or highly influential individuals.
There have been as many as 50,000 followers on the Fanpage “Khanh Hoa residents speak English”; 5,000 people have installed and used the app "EZ English", which enables users to learn English anytime, anywhere and on any devices.
