Unleashing young people’s creativity and volunteering

Youth Union members and young people’s role has been promoted, gaining some achievements in volunteer activities in the coming time.

According to Tran Anh Tuan, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union, the Youth Union at all levels in the province has promoted its role in political and ideological education for the young generation through in-person and online testing and evaluation on a Vietnamese youth app. The provincial Youth Union has organized 244 programs, seminars and conferences marking public holidays and traditional anniversaries.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee hands a flag over to the Provincial Youth Union leaders to carry out 2024 Youth Month tasks.

A youth project "Spratly Islands in my heart” is being implemented with models of the national sovereignty landmark of Spratly Islands set up at schools, contributing to propagandizing youth and students about Vietnam's marine sovereignty. The Youth Union has posted videos and infographics publicizing the laws and regulations of the Party, and the Youth Union and shared inspiring stories about kindness.

In addition, the Provincial Youth Union has directed its affiliations to assess Youth Union members, teenagers and children’s needs for information and communication and apply digital transformation in communication products, contributing to enhancing the public orientation and promoting cybersecurity.

Volunteering for the community’s sake is the Youth Union’s regular activity. In 2023, the Youth Union at all levels across the province implemented youth projects with 12 youth projects at the provincial level, with a total value of more than VND2.8 billion and 88 district-level youth projects with a total value of nearly VND4 billion. Grassroots unions implemented 431 youth projects, worth nearly VND2.9 billion. Outstanding projects included youth participation in new rural construction with 212 youth projects on lighting up rural roads; construction and repair of entertainment spots for children; and housing aid for the needy.

Regarding environmental protection, the youth throughout the province participated in the cultivation of more than 212,670 trees; joined Volunteering Saturday and Green Sunday campaigns; released more than 1.5 million breeders to regenerate aquatic resources, etc. New models developed since 2023 include the youth project "Stone benches made from plastic waste" and "Concrete road made from plastic waste".

In the 2024 Youth Month themed “Khanh Hoa youth pioneer in volunteering for the community’s sake”, the Youth Union has launched more than 50 volunteer squads, implementing more than 510 youth projects at district and grassroots levels; provided assistance for ethnic minority people; awarded scholarships to needy students with a total value of more than VND500 million.

Recently, the Youth Union affiliations in the province have made progress in innovation in the implementation of the Youth Union work and the youth campaigns, achieving practical results to better meet the legitimate needs and aspirations of young people.

At the 2024 dialogue conference between the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Youth Union received many comments and suggestions in implementing youth work as well as promoting the role of youth in all sectors, especially in digital transformation and digital technology development. Based on the conclusions of the dialogue conference, we will turn practical recommendations and proposals into reality, contributing to promoting the youth's role and contribution to the youth work,” said Tran Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union.
