Ca Pass Tunnel reopens to traffic

After 9 days of travel disruption due to a landslide inside Bai Gio Railway Tunnel (Ca Pass, Dai Lanh Commune, Van Ninh District, Khanh Hoa Province), Ca Pass Tunnel has reopened to North-South railway traffic.

Construction train runs through Bai Gio Tunnel for load testing.

Thanks to tremendous joint efforts, the repair work has been completed 1 day ahead of schedule. It is expected to reopen to automobiles on April 22.

Bai Gio Tunnel has a length of nearly 400 meters, built in 1930. Earlier, the tunnel was being solidified with its old concrete shell being demolished when a landslide occurred on April 12.
