Marc E. Knapper, U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam visits Khanh Hoa

On April 9, Nguyen Hai Ninh, Central Party Committee Member, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Tan Tuan, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee welcomed the delegation of US Embassy in Vietnam led by Marc E. Knapper, U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam.

Nguyen Hai Ninh gave an overview of socio-economic development strategies,  emphasizing its strategic position in economics and security and defense; preferential mechanisms and policies offered by the Central Government, and many key transport infrastructure projects. Currently, the province is determined to focus on green transformation associated with digital transformation towards sustainable development. Therefore, the province hoped to welcome US investors.

The provincial delegation will pay a working visit to the United States in May, sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the cities of Boston, Massachusetts and San Diego, California; and meet US investors and scholars. The province hopes that the US Embassy will support and discuss with the authorities of the two cities to arrange a working schedule and invite local agencies to attend the Investment Promotion Conference of Khanh Hoa Province in the United States.

At the reception, Nguyen Tan Tuan expressed the hope that Ambassador Marc E. Knapper would provide a link between Khanh Hoa and US investors as well as help promote the destination of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa to the US people.

Ambassador Marc E. Knapper confirmed that the United States is committed to supporting Vietnam in human resource training to meet labor needs in high-tech fields; providing capital assistance for implementing green energy and green economy transformation.

The Ambassador believed that there would be many cooperation activities contributing to promoting the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the United States in general, Khanh Hoa and localities of the United States in particular.
