Thriving Nha Trang City

Over the recent 10 years, Nha Trang City has gone through a drastic change with many high-rise buildings, modern urban areas and new streets, painting a bright picture of Nha Trang City as Khanh Hoa's core municipality, serving a center of the South Central Coast and Central Highlands.

Vo Nguyen Giap Street opens to traffic, creating motivation for urban development in the west of Nha Trang.

Brighter picture

Returning to Nha Trang after 10 years, a tourist named Le Hoang Duong, Ho Chi Minh City is very surprised at the growth of Nha Trang, which has turned into a bustling modern city, expanding to the north and west. In the city center, especially on Tran Phu Street and Pham Van Dong Street are so many luxurious buildings, hotels, restaurants and tourist sites, including Ana Marina Nha Trang.

According to Phan Tan Dung, Chairman of Phuoc Hai Ward People's Committee, thanks to the city west-ward expansion planning orientation, many urban areas have been licensed for construction, completed and put into operation. They include Le Hong Phong 1, Le Hong Phong 2, VCN Phuoc Hai, My Gia, Hoang Long, VCN Phuoc Long, An Binh Tan and so on.

In addition, significant investment has been made in transport infrastructures, including two main routes, namely Vo Nguyen Giap Street, connecting Dien Khanh District center to Nha Trang City center and Phong Chau Street connecting Nha Trang city center to Provincial Highway 3.

According to Nguyen Sy Khanh, Chairman of the Nha Trang City People's Committee, Nha Trang urban infrastructures are gradually improving, meeting socio-economic development demands. When the projects of Ring Road 2 connecting with the expanded Nguyen Xien Street, Ngoc Hoi intersection, Ring Road 3, D30 Road, D25 Road and Phu Kieng Bridge finish, the complete transportation infrastructures promise to create motivation for socio-economic development and improve local living standards.

Striving to become an economic and political center

Nha Trang City People's Committee is focusing on the upgrading of urban infrastructures in the communes of Vinh Thai, Vinh Hiep, Vinh Thanh, Vinh Trung, Vinh Ngoc; increasing safe and secure homes, roads and green land for public use in urban areas, etc. From now until 2030, the city will continue to focus on upgrading traffic and social infrastructures in inner-city wards and communes planned to become wards, contributing to increasing the urbanization in the entire province.

The northern area of Nha Trang City has had many changes in recent years.

According to Nguyen Sy Khanh, the master planning of Nha Trang City till 2040 was approved by  the Prime Minister on March 31, 2024. Nha Trang City will concretize the economic and technical criteria of the general planning into the detailed planning as a basis for implementing investment and construction management projects; gradually develop Nha Trang into a political, economic and cultural center of the province; a center of science, technology, education and training and services of the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions; a national and international resort center; a venue of national and international cultural events and festivals; contributing to the goal of building Khanh Hoa to become a centrally-governed city by 2030 with Nha Trang as a core municipality.
