Consul General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City visits Khanh Hoa

Le Huu Hoang, Member of Khanh Hoa Provincial Standing Party Committee, Standing Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee welcomed Annie Dubé, Consul General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and other members in the delegation on May 14.

Le Huu Hoang gave an overview of provincial socio-economic development and strategies. Canada is always considered as an important partner with much potential for cooperation, especially in economics. Le Huu Hoang hoped Annie Dubé would provide a link between Khanh Hoa and reputable Canadian consulting organizations to support Khanh Hoa in implementing master plans; introduce Canadian businesses to invest and share experience with the province in such fields as digital economy, circular economy, knowledge economy, sharing economy, artificial intelligence and ocean research; apply high technology to green agricultural production; develop biotechnology and information technology; boost trade and bilateral relations; and support tourism communications between the two sides.

Annie Dubé shared information about activities the Canadian Government is implementing in Vietnam, adding that Canada has strengths in climate change, clean energy and gender equality which are also Canada's priorities in implementing Indo-Pacific Strategy.

She agreed that Khanh Hoa and Canadian partners need to promote the opening of direct flights as well as focus on trade promotion between Canada and Vietnam in general and Khanh Hoa in particular.

Annie Dubé promised to try to provide a link and introduce infrastructure investment funds in Canada to Khanh Hoa.
