Efforts to improve activities for kids

Dien Khanh District Children’s House has made efforts to upgrade its facilities and improve its activities to provide a wide variety of fun and educational activities for kids.

Skill classes at Dien Khanh Children’s House are open every evening attracting a large number of kids. 14-year-old Ha Ngoc Bao Tran, Dien Lac Commune, said, “I love martial arts, so I’m taking a martial arts course. I also want to improve my health. I have also had classes in other skills such as drawing, dancing and yoga. I have been joining the activities here for 3 or 4 years now. They are so exciting and fun.”

Dien Khanh Children's House has 25 skill classes, clubs and groups. Many classes attract a large number of learners such as aerobics, martial arts, chess and handwriting. Classes are open from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday and all day on Sunday. In order to improve the quality and effectiveness of skill classes, the Children's House has improved its infrastructures and teaching equipment.

In 2023, the unit installed a free play area for children; purchased trumpets, drums and badminton equipment; and improved the lighting system, and landscape around the children’s house. In 2024, the unit will open new classes in information technology, quick Math and basketball to provide more options and flexibility. Therefore, the number of children participating in activities and skill classes is increasing, higher than in previous years, according to Le Thi Ngoc Tram, Deputy Director of Dien Khanh Children's House.

Besides skill classes, the district Children's House maintains the activities of clubs.

Parent Nguyen Viet Anh, Dien An Commune, said, "The district Children's House has been upgraded with more skill classes. My child is taking a Karate class here. I hope it helps him to stay healthy, physically and mentally.”

According to Nguyen Xuan Huy, Deputy Secretary of the District Youth Union, Director of Dien Khanh Children's House, in addition to improving the quality of skill classes, various activities are regularly organized such as Happy and Healthy Children's Festival; International Children's Day celebration; children's talent contest together with professional and amateur clubs and groups, contributing to promoting children's activities.

The children’s house is preparing for the 2024 summer courses and the establishment of a STEM Club for children who are passionate about science; a summer program for children in need, water safety courses, a children's summer camp, etc., designed to improve activities and promote the role of the children's house in child care and education.
