At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh respectfully thanked the welcome and support of the Consulate General of Vietnam in San Francisco and Consul General Hoang Anh Tuan for the delegation; and said about some outstanding socio-economic features of Khanh Hoa Province. Accordingly, in 2022, Khanh Hoa's economic growth rate reached 20.7%, the highest in the country; in 2023, it reached 10.35%, ranking fourth in the country. It is expected that the figure of the first 6 months of 2024 will reach 12.73%, ranking 2nd in the country. The tourism of the province has made a strong recovery. In 2023, the province received 7.2 million visitors, including 2.4 million international visitors. In the first 5 months of 2024, Khanh Hoa welcomed 3.8 million visitors, including 2 million international visitors, forecast to exceed the yearly target of welcoming 3 million international visitors. The province strives to welcome 4 million international visitors this year, exceeding the milestone of welcoming 3.5 million international visitors before the Covid-19 epidemic (2019). Khanh Hoa's 2023 Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) ranked 8th in the country, in which the index of transparency in decision-making reached the highest score nationwide. Besides, the Central Government has invested in infrastructure of the province. For the North - South expressway route through the province, 2 expressway sections (Nha Trang - Cam Lam and Cam Lam - Vinh Hao) have been completed while the remaining section Van Phong - Nha Trang has the leading construction progress among 12 expressway sections of localities across the country, expected to be completed before April 30, 2025. Currently, the province is coordinating with the Ministry of Transport and Dak Lak province to deploy the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway, expected to be completed in 2026, connecting with the vast Central Highlands region. Besides, Khanh Hoa has Cam Ranh Internationl Airport, ranked fourth in the country and high-speed railway will be invested in the future, which ensure convenient connection of all types of traffic.

Khanh Hoa Province Party Secretary Nguyen Hai Ninh emphasized that Khanh Hoa is one of nine localities across the country that has its own resolution from the Politburo and the National Assembly on provincial development. Specifically, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 09 on building and developing Khanh Hoa province to 2030, with a vision to 2045 and The National Assembly issued Resolution No. 55 on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies to develop Khanh Hoa province to create opportunities and motivation for the province's breakthrough development. Khanh Hoa is the second locality in the country to have the Prime Minister approve for all plannings under its authority, including: Khanh Hoa province planning for the period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050; Project of Adjusting the General Construction Planning of Van Phong Economic Zone; Project to adjust the General Planning of Nha Trang City and the new urban master planning of Cam Lam project, which have created new development space for the province and favorable conditions for attracting investment. To realize the goal of turning Khanh Hoa into a centrally run city by 2030, the province needs huge investment. Therefore, besides the investment from the Central and the province, Khanh Hoa is inviting and attracting domestic and foreign investors. Currently, the total foreign investment in Khanh Hoa is about 4.4 billion USD. Especially, after the two countries the US and Vietnam issued a joint statement on upgrading the relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership, the province wishes to invite US investment funds and businesses to invest in Khanh Hoa in fields as follows: green transformation - green growth; renewable energy industry (liquefied petroleum gas, offshore wind power, battery storage, solar power...); petrochemical refining industry; international seaport; urban area infrastructure development.

Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan highly appreciated the Khanh Hoa province delegation for their thoughtful preparations for connecting and expanding cooperation with a number of localities in the United States, including San Diego - a city with many similarities with Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa. He highly agreed with the province's proposals on connecting and exchanging cooperation opportunities in a number of fields. At the same time, he suggested a number of areas that US investors are interested in such as: Artificial intelligence products, software development, data construction, medical tourism... He said to support Khanh Hoa in connecting with US businesses and investment funds as well as famous universities in San Diego to help Khanh Hoa expand further cooperation, attract many investors in the near future. He also hoped the Khanh Hoa province delegation to organize an investment promotion conference in San Diego on the afternoon of June 3 successfully.
