Accelerating Cam Lam urban development and planning

In the first 6 months, in addition to socio-economic growth, Cam Lam District focused on accelerating urban development and planning, specialising in Cam Lam new urban area development identified as one of the key tasks in 2024 and the following years.

Accelerating procedures

Since the beginning of the year, the urban development and planning have been implemented in many sectors. Regarding the master planning of Cam Lam new urban area approved by the Prime Minister on February 28, 2024, the district People’s Committee has organized a conference to announce the general planning and implement the zoning planning. The District People's Committee is coordinating with the consulting unit to submit the planning of coastal urban subdivisions, northern urban subdivisions and central urban subdivisions to the Department of Construction for appraisal.

Cu Hin mountain ecological sub-zones, its western complex sub-zone, west-south and north-west ecological sub-zones are also being planned by the District People's Committee. The work is expected to be completed by the end of July. The district has prepared a proposal on establishing a regional urban development program with the construction of the new urban area of ​​Cam Lam, Khanh Hoa Province by 2045. On May 22, the District People's Committee continued to submit the planning to the Provincial People's Committee for approval and received ideas from the Department of Construction.

The District People's Committee is submitting the to the District People's Council to consider adding Cam Lam New Urban Development Program into the district's medium-term public investment plan for the 2021 - 2025 period and approve the project's investment policy at the District People's Council meeting in July.

Assuring social security

In addition to focusing resources on urban planning, Cam Lam District People's Committee has also determined to assure livelihoods and social security when conducting the planning of Cam Lam New Urban Area. The district has coordinated with provincial departments and agencies to support vocational training and job creation for those whose land is recovered for the project; as well as publicize the project to the public, focusing on the meaning and importance of the planning, citizens’ benefits from the implementation of the project; give prompt response and answers to people's concerns and legitimate aspirations related to Cam Lam New Urban Master Planning Project.

In addition, dialogues and meetings gave residents chances to share ideas and raise questions to be answered by local leaders; as well as mobilized the community support for the planning project. According to Ngo Van Bao, Deputy Secretary of Cam Lam District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Committee, from now until the end of 2024, the district will continue to carry out propaganda about the district development planning till 2030, vision to 2045 as a modern, ecological, new urban area and the policy of establishing a new general urban planning in the district.

In addition, the District People's Committee will coordinate with the Department of Construction and the consulting unit to prepare relevant contents for the Appraisal Council meeting to approve the planning for coastal urban areas, northern urban areas and central urban area. The planning of the remaining subdivisions will be conducted in accordance with the law. The district will also continue making Cam Lam new urban development program until 2030, with a vision to 2045, ensuring compliance with the general urban planning and provincial urban development program.
