Plastic trash-for-breakfast exchange

Van Gia Town Women’s Association, Van Ninh District held a plastic trash-for-breakfast exchange day on July 6.

Accordingly, 5 water bottles or cans or 5 plastic waste items were exchanged for 1 breakfast portion. The association members prepared 500 breakfast portions of beef stew available for the exchange in the community. The exchange had a total cost of VND10 million.

After the program, 50kg of waste plastic was collected and the proceeds from the waste sales went to the funds for women and children in need. The activity aimed to raise public awareness of plastic waste reduction.

In addition, officials and members also guided residents to scan QR codes to follow the Fanpage of Van Gia Town Women's Association with more than 200 participants. The activity aimed to boost the application of digital transformation and information technology in  propaganda.
