Site clearance for Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot Motorway in progress

On July 24, Tran Hoa Nam, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee presided over a meeting on site clearance for Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot Motorway. The site clearance work is in progress.

According to Dang Huu Tai, Director of  Khanh Hoa Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board,  Ninh Hoa Town People's Committee has approved compensation payment to 694/1,022 cases, accounting for 67,91% of the total cases, corresponding to 46.98% of the project site. Ninh Hoa Town Land Fund Development Center has handed over more than 28km out of 31.5km in total to contractors for the construction, reaching 88.42%.

Regarding the relocation of the technical infrastructure system, the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board is implementing the relocation of power, water supply and drainage, lighting, and telecommunications systems and this work is expected to be completed in July. As for the Ha Thanh Resettlement Area Project, up to now, Ninh Hoa Town Land Fund Development Center has handed over 6.7ha, reaching 93.5%. 

In 2024, the Provincial Transport Construction Investment Project Management Board was assigned VND1,600 billion for the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Motorway Project. More than VND300 billion has been disbursed, reaching 20.67%.

The Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Motorway project has been sped up due to favorable site clearance.

To speed up the disbursement of public investment capital, the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board recommends that the People's Committee of Ninh Hoa Town direct the town's Land Fund Development Center to urgently complete approval for affected cases with houses on the land considered for resettlement; and mobilize for the opening of public service roads in advance to facilitate the transportation of machinery, equipment and materials to ensure project construction progress.

According to Dang Huu Tai, on May 7, the board completed the handover of resettlement land, phase 1 with 104/200 lots. The Provincial Land Registration Office is making measurements to serve the allocation of resettlement land to households. The Board requested the People's Committee of Ninh Hoa Town to soon issue land cost prices for Ha Thanh Resettlement Area to speed up the site clearance compensation for those affected by the project.

Concluding the meeting, Tran Hoa Nam assigned the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to coordinate with the People's Committee of Ninh Hoa Town to urgently add land prices for 5 years, as a basis for building land prices for Ha Thanh Resettlement Area.

Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Motorway section running through Khanh Hoa Province has a total length of more than 31.5km with a starting point at the intersection of the National Highway 26B and National Highway 1 in the Nam Van Phong Port area, and an ending point at Km32 + 000 in Ninh Hoa Town.

The motorway is designed to have 4 lanes with a speed of 100km/h. The total capital is expected at VND5.632 billion. The construction started in June 2023 and the project implementation time is 2022 – 2027. The investor and contractors are striving to finish the project 6 months ahead of schedule.

On July 16, Deputy Minister of Transport Le Anh Tuan conducted field research at the motorway construction. The Deputy Minister of Transport requested that site clearance must be completed in July for cases not considered for resettlement and in August for cases considered for resettlement to speed up construction progress.

The investor was asked to complete the service road in August; as well as speed up the progress to put Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Motorway into operation at the same time with Van Phong - Nha Trang Motorway before December 2025, following the Prime Minister's instructions
