Various English language playgrounds for residents

Several English language playgrounds have been organized by the management board of the program “Khanh Hoa residents speak English” throughout the province, attracting a large number of participants.

The management board of the program “Khanh Hoa residents speak English” has just kicked off “The English Arena”, an English language show open to people of all ages every week from 8 pm on July 27. There will be 1 first prize, VND1 million; 1 second prize, VND 500,000; 1 third prize, VND300,000; 1 consolation prize, VND100,000 and 12 secondary prizes. Players have to download the app "EZ English" and follow the instructions to join “The English Arena”.

Earlier, the final of a speaking contest “Master English - Master your life” took place in June with the participation of nearly 200 contestants selected from more than 2,500  in an online preliminary round. The contestants were divided into 6 groups from junior high schools, senior high schools, public service agencies, businesses and the community. The questions covered various topics such as history, culture, sports and social life. 15 excellent contestants won the award tour to Thailand. The event was designed to inspire interest in learning English and improve English language skills in the community.

Various English competitions and game shows have also been organized by the program “Khanh Hoa residents speak English” and promoted via the program's website, fanpage, tiktok and youtube channels. 

They include Golden Bell Ringing for students of more than 30 high schools in the province; Golden Bell Ringing organized in districts and cities; English singing contest "Sing your soul" with more than 1,000 participants from Nha Trang University, Naval Academy, and Communications Officer Training School; Golden Bell Ringing at Naval Academy; "Master English - Master your life" for members of the Provincial Women's Union, members of English speaking clubs; "Sing to shine" singing contest in Nha Trang City; and “Story Telling" Contest with inspirational stories about learning English, attracting 4,000 views and shares from the community. The English language programs help create an English-speaking environment in the community towards the goal of bringing English to life.

"Master English - Master your life" final.

Nguyen Thi Bich Chi, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Ninh Giang Ward, Ninh Hoa Town said, “I participated in the Golden Bell contest held in Ninh Hoa Town in June and found this is a meaningful and practical playground. Therefore, under the guidance and support of the program, I have established an English club in the ward since July. The club has attracted more than 20 members. Hopefully, the program will have rewarding activities reaching more people.”

Reportedly, in addition to improving the effectiveness of English-speaking clubs, the program “Khanh Hoa residents speak English” will continue to organize more playgrounds targeted at more specific groups; as well as promote propaganda on mass media.

The program “Khanh Hoa residents speak English” has been implemented in the 6/8 districts and cities of Nha Trang, Cam Ranh Ninh Hoa, Van Ninh, Cam Lam and Dien Khanh. As many as 44,700 people have attended events; more than 30,100 joined competitions and game shows under the program; and more than 200 clubs have been founded with over 9,000 members and 190 volunteers. The program “Khanh Hoa residents speak English” Fanpage has had over 102,600 followers, etc.
