Work begins on Le Duan Street, section 3

 

Cam Ranh City People's Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for Le Duan Street, section 3 running through the 3 wards of Cam Phu, Cam Phuc Nam and Cam Phuc Bac, Cam Ranh City on July 17. Present at the event was Nguyen Tan Tuan, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

According to Truong Van Cu, Director of Cam Ranh City Construction Project Management Board (an investor representative), Le Duan Street, section 1 with a starting point connecting to Hung Vuong Avenue and an ending point intersecting with To Huu, about 1km long, has been opened to traffic since 2003. Le Duan Street, section 2, running from To Huu Street to the intersection with Nguyen Luong Bang Street, about 1km long, has been put into use since 2006.

 

 

 

 

According to Le Ngoc Thach, Chairman of Cam Ranh City People's Committee, the construction of many key roads, including Le Duan Street, section 3 is in its urban development program. Thanks to the concern and financial support from the Central and provincial Government in the project investment, the construction preparation with the site handover has been basically completed.

Le Duan Street , section 3 has a starting point at Nguyen Luong Bang street and the ending point intersecting with Le Loi street with a total length of nearly 3km. The project has a construction boundary of 30m, including the road surface, 16m wide; median strip, 2m wide; sidewalk, 6m wide with a designed speed of 50km/h. The project with a total investment capital of VND326 billion is expected to be completed in July 2025. Cam Ranh City People's Committee is the investor; the joint venture of Construction & Investment Company, Ltd. and Khanh Anh Construction and Investment Joint Stock Company is the contractor.

Promoting connection role

According to Cam Ranh City People's Committee leader, Le Duan Street, section 4 has been proposed by the city according to Cam Ranh City's General Planning Adjustment Project till 2045. The construction of the Street, section 4, about 4km long, with a total investment of more than VND500 billion, with the starting point intersecting with Le Loi Street and the ending point intersecting with Nguyen Cong Tru Street (Cam Nghia Ward), is expected to start in 2025.

In addition to easing the traffic load on the National Highway 1 running through Cam Ranh City, Le Duan Street plays an important role in creating regional links from the new Cam Lam urban area to Cam Ranh Port, the North - South railway and the southern economic center. This route is of great significance in terms of connecting the agricultural area of ​​Cam Lam District to Cam Ranh city center and vice versa. When completed and put into use, the route will contribute to perfecting the urban transport network. In addition, the construction promises to help increase the value of the land fund, create new development space and contribute to promoting the city's socio-economic growth.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Nguyen Tan Tuan asked Cam Ranh City to soon prepare a technical design report to start construction on the last section of Le Duan Street. Cam Ranh City's General Planning Adjustment Project till 2045 is expected to be approved by the end of July 2024 the Provincial People's Committee. The construction is determined to welcome the Provincial Party Congress scheduled to take place in September 2025. The entire road is strived to open to traffic technically on the occasion of the National Party Congress scheduled to take place in January 2026.

Nguyen Tan Tuan requested local departments and agencies to provide maximum support for Cam Ranh City to complete the road project. The city was asked to manage and build sidewalks and make road decorations when completed as well as research the development of urban areas on its both sides to promote the value of the land fund.
