The resolution of the 13th National Party Congress identifies comprehensive infrastructure development as 1 of the 3 strategic breakthroughs with transport infrastructure development as an important pillar towards the target of putting 3,000km and 5,000km of motorways into operation by 2025 and 2030 respectively.
To implement this resolution, the Government has consistently directed authorities at all levels to take coordinated actions to accelerate investment in transport infrastructure projects, gaining significant results.
1,000km of motorways running through 15 provinces and cities has been completed, bringing the total length to nearly 2,100km. Over 1,700 km is under construction and 1,400km running through 48 provinces and cities nationwide is about to begin.

On behalf of the Government and the Central Emulation and Commendation Council, the Prime Minister launched a 500-day emulation campaign aimed at completing 3,000 km of motorways within 500 days and nights to fulfill the resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and welcome the upcoming 14th National Party Congress.
The Prime Minister asked Party committees at all levels and the entire political system to promote their roles, issue drastic directions and measures to accelerate the progress as well as enhance public consensus in the traffic infrastructure projects.
He instructed the Ministry of Transport to monitor the situation, coordinate with the Government Office to implement assigned tasks and promptly report obstacles needed to be resolved by the relevant authorities to ensure progress, quality and efficiency.
Right after the launching ceremony, ministries, sectors, agencies, localities and corporations were requested to develop action programs and implementation plans, ensuring the quality of projects to meet the deadline of December 31, 2025.

In Khanh Hoa, Nha Trang - Cam Lam Motorway Project with a length of 49.11km running through the 3 localities of Dien Khanh, Cam Lam and Cam Ranh City with a total investment of VND7,615 billion has been completed and put into operation since May 2023. Cam Lam - Vinh Hao Motorway Project with a length of 78.5km, including 5km running through Cam Ranh City with a total investment of VND13,687 billion has been opened to traffic since April 2024. Van Phong - Nha Trang Motorway Project with a length of 83.35km and a total investment of about VND11,808 billion is under construction and expected to be completed by the end of April 2025 (8 months ahead of schedule). Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Motorway Project with a total length of 32km with a total investment of more than VND5,632 billion is underway with site clearance and construction of resettlement areas.
