The Project of Relocation and Resettlement of the eastern side of Tran Hung Dao Street in Van Gia Town is identified as a key project for local development and in honor of the Party Congresses at all levels in the province. The project is scheduled to start this December.
Tran Hung Dao Street is a scenic coastal route in Van Gia Town. On its southern side are a solid embankment and a spacious green park. However, on its eastern side are shanty houses affecting the environment. Van Ninh District People's Committee has proposed relocating the entire residential area to create clean land to build Van Gia coastal park according to the detailed 1/500 planning of Van Gia town's coastline approved by competent authorities since 2009.
According to Huynh Ngoc Liem, Director of the District Construction Project Management Board, in December 2023, the Provincial People's Council approved the investment policy for the Relocation and Resettlement Project in the area eastern side of Tran Hung Dao Street in Van Gia Town.
Approximately 8.67ha will be under site clearance together with the land fund for technical infrastructures for the resettlement and other construction projects in Van Ninh District. The project has a total investment capital of more than VND261 billion.
Reportedly, the project will invest in technical infrastructures (phase 1), including a road, 24m wide, according to the general planning of Van Phong Economic Zone and connecting roads, 16m, 13m, 10m, 7m wide; embankments to reinforce the northern slope with a length of about 500m; technical infrastructures of electricity supply, water supply, rainwater drainage, wastewater drainage and communications.
According to Nguyen Thanh Son, Vice-Chairman of Van Ninh District People's Committee, the Relocation and Resettlement Project has completed its feasibility study report and planned to complete the appraisal and approval progress by the end of August.
Regarding the funding, the Provincial People's Committee has arranged about VND1 billion. Regarding the site clearance preparation, the Provincial People's Committee has approved the local land use plan for 2024 as a basis for site clearance work this year.
The locality has also basically completed the cadastral measurement of the recovered land, and planned to proceed with land acquisition, resettlement and compensation in November. The construction is expected to start this December and be put into use in 2025.
