For clean, green and beautiful roads

Thanks to the joint effort of Van Ninh District Women’s Association officials and members, many roads have become cleaner and greener, contributing to enhancing the rural appearance.

The road in Hai Trieu Village, Van Long Commune is full of flowers.

To ensure environmental sanitation, the Women's Union of Van Long Commune has coordinated with Hai Trieu Village to implement the "bright, green, clean and beautiful" road project. With more than VND40 million contributed by the commune leaders, civil servants and benefactors in Hai Trieu Village, cadres, union members and villagers started to implement the "bright, green, clean, beautiful" road project, getting engaged in the road clean-up, planting 500 flower plants, installing 2 surveillance cameras, 5 road lights and so on.

In addition, the Commune Women's Union also installed 12 stone benches, inviting villagers to come and relax. The project along the nearly 200m long road in Hai Trieu Village was completed in January 2024.

Thanks to the local joint effort, the road has become clean and beautiful with shady trees and colorful flowers. Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh (Hai Trieu Village) said many local people like this road area and come here to relax, meet friends and do exercise every day. The security has also been improved with the surveillance cameras.

According to Thai Thi Hong Van, Chairperson of Van Long Commune Women's Union, the union also coordinated with villages to implement 2 other "bright, green, clean" roads in the commune to eliminate spontaneous landfills. In Loc Tho village, the road will be implemented in July and August 2023 with a length of 300m; planting flowers, installing 22 solar lights, 2 cameras and 6 stone benches with a total cost of VND72 million.

In Long Hoa Village, the road was completed in January 2024 with a length of 150m; 450 flower pots, 6 LED lights, 14 stone benches and 2 cameras with a total cost of community-funded VND42 million. Van Binh Commune Women's Association has implemented a "green, clean, beautiful" road, contributing to the construction of new rural areas in Trung Dong 3 Village and Binh Trung 1 Village in Van Binh Commune.

People have planted various flowers and plants in front of their houses to boost the road appeal. Accordingly, flowers have been planted along the 500m long road in Trung Dong 3 Village with a cost of VND6.8 million and the 500m road in Binh Trung 1 Village with a cost of VND 4.8 million.

In addition, locals installed cameras and stone benches on the road in Binh Trung 1 Village. In Xuan Son Commune, the Women's Association has developed a 1km "green, clean, beautiful" road project in Xuan Trang Village since 2020. Besides the road clean-up, the association members also planted flowers in front of houses and installed 10 stone benches along the road with a total cost of VND33 million.

According to Nguyen Hong Khanh Quynh, Chairperson of Van Ninh District Women's Union, implementing the campaign to foster Vietnamese family values ​​and the National Target Program on new rural construction, the district Women's Association at all levels has implemented the community service project to keep the road stretch of 21.8km green, clean and beautiful in 12 communes and towns with a cost of VND538.3 million, helping to reducing littering and contributing to environmental protection.

According to Nguyen Hoang Van Ha, Vice-Chairperson of the Provincial Women's Union, in recent times, the women's association at all levels in Van Ninh District has effectively implemented the community service project on many roads, contributing to raising public awareness of environmental protection. The good acts and models need to be maintained and expanded to keep the living environment fresh, clean and beautiful, contributing to fostering Vietnamese family values associated with building new rural areas and civilized urban areas.
