Digital library model

In order to effectively apply digital technology, Van Ninh District Youth Union has just put into use the Digital Library model at 100% of grassroots youth unions and 80% of community centers and schools.

By simply scanning the QR code with smartphones, users can go to Van Ninh District Youth Union’s website which serves as a digital library providing access to more than 1,000 e-books categorized into many fields and contents such as Vietnamese history, President Ho Chi Minh, life skills, communication skills, work skills, art, culture, art of living, biography, Vietnamese literature and more.

According to Vo Dinh Chau, Secretary of Van Ninh District Youth Union, the Digital Library is a smart library model designed and deployed by the Standing Committee of Van Ninh District Youth Union to grassroots affiliations.

The model operates by allowing users to scan a QR code to look up and read books on various topics, suitable for all ages.. The books are provided by domestic publishers. The model focuses on developing e-books through a QR code so that readers can easily use smartphones to access, search and read books.

The Digital Library model has been deployed to 100% of grassroots youth unions in communes and towns and 80% of community houses in villages, residential groups and schools in the district.

According to Vo Huynh Minh Quyen, Secretary of the Youth Union of Huynh Thuc Khang High School, the Digital Library model is very useful for students, union members and youth in the school sector. By scanning QR codes, young people can easily access knowledge through the large number of books which are constantly updated. In the digital age, this is one of the solutions to boost reading culture among students.

Students have shown great interest in the Digital Library model. Dang Hoang Ha, class 12C4, Huynh Thuc Khang High School said, "I find this model quite i fascinating. QR codes are posted in many places at school for scanning with smartphones to access to the literature book resource."

The Digital Library promises to contribute to developing a reading culture in the community, innovating the way young people access and read books. "Building a smart library model and learning resource center is an inevitable current trend to promote reading effectively among young people. In the coming time, Van Ninh District Youth Union will continue to upgrade the model to meet the needs of the community, demonstrating the youth’s pioneering in digital transformation," said Vo Dinh Chau.
