Ngo Dinh Xuyen, Deputy Commander of Naval Region 4 together with leaders of local departments and agencies were present at Cam Ranh military port in the south-central coastal province of Khanh Hoa on December 26 to bid farewell to a working delegation to bring New Year 2025 gifts from the mainland to soldiers and residents on the Spratly Islands
On the morning of December 26, at the wharf area of Cam Ranh Military Port, officers and soldiers were busy preparing for the transportation of New Year gifts. Boxes of cakes, candies and many other necessities were packed and tied carefully to ensure safety during the long journey. Especially, apricot and peach flowers from the mainland were also sent to the islands on this trip. “The most difficult is to transport flowers and plants while ensuring their safety and freshness throughout the journey,” said Sergeant Tran Phi Hung, Brigade 146.

On the ships were hundreds of packages of New Year gifts and other necessities for residents and soldiers on the Spratly Islands to ensure they would have a happy and fulfilled New Year holiday as on the mainland.
Col. Ngo Dinh Xuyen said, “This journey is expected to face unfavorable weather during this time, but all officers, soldiers and members of the mission are determined to successfully complete the task and ensure absolute safety.”
Nearly 100 reporters from central and local press agencies along with officers and soldiers assigned to work on the islands joined the voyage. As the ship departed, countless smiles from the young recruits in their twenties lit up the deck. Their eyes sparkled with excitement and enthusiasm to join the mission and fulfill their duties.

Vice-Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Dinh Van Thieu affirmed that this trip also serves as a morale booster for the forces who are tirelessly protecting the nation's sacred sea. He also conveyed affection, solidarity and unwavering trust from the mainland to Truong Sa. Dinh Van Thieu conveyed greetings to residents and soldiers on the Spratly Islands and wished them fulfill assigned duties and lead a happy New Year.
At 4 p.m., the ships sounded their whistles three times and slowly set sail, carrying the mainland's love and well-wishes to those on the islands for the upcoming New Year.
