French Ambassador to Vietnam visits Khanh Hoa

On February 13, Nghiem Xuan Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee received Olivier Brochet, French Ambassador to Vietnam to Vietnam. Also present at the event were Le Huu Hoang, Member of Khanh Hoa Provincial Standing Party Committee, Standing Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee and some leaders of local departments and agencies.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nghiem Xuan Thanh gave an overview of the provincial strategy confirming the goal to transform it into a centrally-run, smart, sustainable, unique, and internationally connected city by 2030.

Provincial Party Secretary Nghiem Xuan Thanh hoped that Olivier Brochet would support the signing of a cooperation agreement between Khanh Hoa and the Lorient Urban Community and Lorient City; promote the connection between Khanh Hoa tourism businesses and France; consider opening a direct flight from Khanh Hoa to France; introduce French businesses and investors to Khanh Hoa in many fields; maintain exchanges between schools in Khanh Hoa and France; introduce French pharmaceutical companies to invest in Khanh Hoa, etc.

Olivier Brochet expressed his admiration for the destination of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa, where there are many historical figures and constructions associated with France such as the Institute of Oceanography, Pasteur Institute Nha Trang and Doctor A.Yersin.

Recently, the cooperation between the government and people of Khanh Hoa province and French organizations and individuals has been strengthened, especially in education, health care, and scientific research. Olivier Brochet promised to help promote the signing of a cooperation agreement between Khanh Hoa Province and the Lorient Urban Community and the Lorient City of France.

On the same afternoon, Dinh Van Thieu, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee had a working session with Ambassador Olivier Brochet. Dinh Van Thieu hoped Olivier Brochet would help connect Khanh Hoa tourism businesses with French businesses; organize art exchange trips; and expand scientific research cooperation in the field of public health and infectious disease prevention, etc. Dinh Van Thieu also invited Olivier Brochet to attend the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2025.

Olivier Brochet pledged to promote efforts aimed at further strengthening the cooperation between Khanh Hoa Province and French localities and partners.
