According to Nguyen Trong Sy, Principal of Khanh Vinh Town Primary School, the schoolchildren's access to English is still limited as the school is located in a mountainous area. To improve English teaching and learning, in addition to regular teaching for grades 3 to 5 according to the 2018 General Education Program, the school has also organized English-speaking clubs and extracurricular activities in the form of "Ringing the Golden Bell", enhanced the training of gifted students, English language competitions and some competitions on the Internet. Some parents are also motivated to invest in various ways to ensure their children master English.
Some students have shown good presentation skills, speaking English fluently and confidently. In the coming time, the school will encourage parents to register their children to participate in the English language familiarization program in grades 1 and 2 to pave the way for formal English learning from grade 3.
At Ly Tu Trong High School (Nha Trang City), many activities to promote English learning among students have also been promoted. According to Vice-Principal Cao Thanh Hung, many students are proficient in English and enjoy favorable conditions to enhance their English language proficiency further.

Many students have won prizes in English competitions. The school has also held various extracurricular activities in English and implemented 30 English-speaking clubs in classes and activities within the framework of the “Khanh Hoa Residents Speak English” Program sponsored by Vingroup.
According to Le Dinh Thuan, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, implementing the Project on teaching and learning foreign languages in the national education system for the period 2017 - 2025, the department has provided professional training in foreign language and pedagogical skills for English teachers from primary to high schools. Many schools regularly organize extracurricular activities, competitions and English exchange programs for students. In addition, the department has cooperated with Vingroup to implement the “Khanh Hoa Residents Speak English” Program to boost learners' communication skills. English teaching and learning in the province has improved significantly. Khanh Hoa has become to be among the top 20 provinces with the highest average English scores nationwide.
According to the Department of Education and Training, there is still a gap in English teaching and learning among areas in the province as students in rural, remote and isolated areas still have limited communication skills. Teaching science subjects integrated with foreign languages has not been implemented yet, and teaching some subjects in English is only piloted in some schools in Nha Trang.
Currently, foreign languages have been included in the curriculum from preschool to high school, including compulsory teaching from grades 3 to 12 according to the 2018 General Education Program and English language familiarization program to help children access a new language naturally at preschool and grades 1 and 2.
According to the leader of the Department of Education and Training, improving foreign language teaching and learning requires coordinated efforts from management, schools, teachers, students, and parents to ensure teacher quality, create practical environments, innovate testing methods, invest in facilities and materials, and develop a tailored learning roadmap.
