Improving national defense and security education

In recent times, local Party committees, authorities and national defense and security education councils at all levels in the province have had taken measures to improve national defense and security education, contributing to ensuring national defense and security, meeting the requirements of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.

Focusing on knowledge development

Over the years, the Provincial Defense and Security Education Council has focused on directing national defense and security education and achieved practical results. The Party Committees and commanders at all levels have given guidance to improve national defense and security education specified in resolutions on leading local defense and military tasks quarterly semi-annually and annually and guiding documents tailored to actual situations. Additionally, the National Defense and Security Education Councils at all levels are regularly strengthened.

Since 2021, the whole province has provided training in national defense and security knowledge for more than 10,700 people (reaching more than 99.5% of the plan). In 2024 alone, the National Defense and Security Education Council at all levels provided national defense and security knowledge training for nearly 100.4% of people required.

National defense and security knowledge training has helped raise awareness and responsibility in performing related tasks based on roles and responsibilities. Additionally, the National Defense and Security Education Council has enhanced the effectiveness of supporting local Party committees and authorities in directing and implementing local defense and military initiatives.

Boosting effective propaganda

Along with improving national defense and security knowledge training, national defense and security education for students is also focused. In 2024, the National Defense and Security Education Center of the Information Officer School and Nha Trang University cooperated with 7 universities, branches and 9 colleges in Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen and Ninh Thuan provinces to organize national defense and security education for tens of thousands of students.

In the 2023-2024 school year, National Defense and Security education centers and schools in the province taught national defense and security education to more than 39,600 students, contributing to raising the young generation’s awareness and responsibility for national defense in the new situation.

In addition, the National Defense and Security Education Council at all levels has directed agencies to coordinate with functional agencies to take appropriate and effective forms of propaganda for national defense and security knowledge. Localities regularly propagandize national defense and security on the columns, namely “National Defense", "For National Security" and "Border Defense" on mass media, thus contributing to a robust national defense and security posture in the new situation.

According to Colonel Nguyen Tan Y, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command, Permanent Vice-Chairman of the Provincial Defense and Security Education Council, in recent times, national defense and security education has been thoroughly heightened and comprehensively implemented by local Party Committees, authorities and defense and security education councils at all levels of the province.

In the coming time, the National Defense Education Council at all levels will continue to focus on national defense education direction, especially among cadres, party members, students and young generation; improve its operation and promote the sense of responsibility of all levels to effectively implement national defense education.
