Meeting with subcontractors of HD Hyundai Mipo Company

A meeting with subcontractors of HD Hyundai Mipo Company (South Korea) took place in Nha Trang City on February 27. Present at the event were Nghiem Xuan Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Tan Tuan, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of Provincial People’s Committee; You Byung Ha, Customs Counselor, Consulate General of South Korea in Ho Chi Minh City; and Kim Hyung Kwan, General Director of Hyundai Mipo together with representatives of more than 60 subcontractor enterprises and associations in South Korea.

The meeting aimed to strengthen connections and expand investment cooperation opportunities between Khanh Hoa and Korean enterprises, especially in the fields of shipbuilding and supporting industries. Representatives of the provincial departments and agencies gave an overview of the provincial potential and strengths; investment attraction orientation in general, the development orientation of Van Phong Economic Zone in particular; investment policies and financial services, investment support from banks.

Leaders of departments, agencies and enterprises of Khanh Hoa Province and South Korea also discussed about specific projects in Van Phong Economic Zone; land rental price for investment in Van Phong Economic Zone; ability to meet the demand for human resources in the mechanical and shipbuilding sectors in Khanh Hoa; bank loan interest rates for investors, etc.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tan Tuan emphasized Khanh Hoa’s strategic position with a deep-water seaport system, international airport, and inter-regional transportation network. In particular, Van Phong Economic Zone is considered as an attractive destination for investors with many special preferential policies. The Central Resolutions on the construction and development of Khanh Hoa province have identified Khanh Hoa as one of the country's important maritime economic centers, aiming to become a centrally-run city by 2030.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tan Tuan affirmed that the province considers Korean partners as strategic investors and HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. is a model for the success of Korean enterprises investing in Khanh Hoa. In the coming time, the provincial leaders will urgently create conditions for the enterprise to extend investment for another 20 years in Khanh Hoa; and support expanding its factories. Khanh Hoa is committed to providing the most favorable environment for investors in implementing projects and doing business in the province.
