The Department of Education and Training has just issued a document guiding activities in response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21) 2025.
The department instructed its affiliates to carry out various initiatives, including organizing visual propaganda activities; promoting reading in school libraries; hosting book clubs, festivals, storytelling sessions, and book-themed competitions; displaying art books and children's drawings; presenting and introducing books for children on topics such as culture, politics, society, science and technology, economics, and tourism; conducting seminars and exchanges on reading culture and skills; highlighting young writers and books about islands; launching book collection drives and donating books to schools in remote, mountainous, and disadvantaged areas; and enhancing book exchange programs among libraries.

In April, the Department of Education and Training will coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and publishing units in the province to donate books to schools in disadvantaged remote areas, participate in and promote the activities of the Book Street Festival, which is due to be organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism jointly with relevant agencies this June.
