Volunteering for the community

On early morning Sunday, the coastal clean-up began on Tri Nguyen Island Beach (Vinh Nguyen Ward, Nha Trang City) with young people from Nha Trang City picking up trash. "We're divided into groups to make sure no trash is left behind," Ngo Thi My Le said while picking up every piece of plastic waste. She dedicated her weekend to participating in Green Sunday, an initiative launched by the Vinh Nguyen Ward Youth Union.

Beyond the coastal clean-up, Youth Union members actively raised awareness among local residents and tourists about the detrimental impact of plastic waste on marine ecosystems. They encouraged everyone to contribute to environmental preservation through practical measures, such as replacing plastic bags with cloth ones and choosing personal reusable water bottles over disposable plastic options.

Nguyen Thi Anh Nguyet, a resident on the island said," I’m also eager to join efforts to protect the living environment." As the sun climbed higher in the sky, the trash scattered along the beach was steadily gathered and prepared for transport to shore, where it would be properly processed.

Meanwhile, young people from Khanh Hoa University and Nha Trang City Youth Union traveled to Vinh Truong Ward on a car with a banner saying "Digital Education for All".

Holding a smartphone, Nguyen Thi Lan, a trader at Vinh Truong Market, attentively followed the guidance of the young volunteers to verify her residence information and integrate her social insurance into the VNeID app. Meanwhile, Nguyen Minh Hanh diligently took notes on instructions for accessing the online public service website and other related procedures. “Thanks to the Youth Union members, I can do some public administrative procedures from home. I can also get informed about online fraud, which helps me remain vigilant,” she said.

According to Mai Xuan Phuong, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa University Youth Union, the "Digital Education for All" model has just been deployed by the Provincial Youth Union. Khanh Hoa University Youth Union is among the pioneering groups to implement this initiative.

Volunteer teams assisted residents in using computers, smartphones, and social networks to access online public services effectively. They also provided guidance on avoiding digital scams, identifying harmful information online, and integrating social insurance into the VNeID app, along with numerous other useful features.

Besides Vinh Truong Ward and Cam Phu Ward (Cam Ranh City), the Digital Education is set to expand to many other locations across the province in the near future.
