Bunpimay and Chol Chnam Thmay celerabtion for Lao and Cambodian students

Khanh Hoa Union of Friendship Organizations celebrated traditional New Year Bunpimay and Chol Chnam Thmay at Van Duc Pagoda on April 11 for nearly 70 Lao and Cambodian students representing over 300 others from the 2 countries studying in Khanh Hoa Province.

This year, Lao and Cambodian people celebrate their traditional New Year on April 13 - 16. During the program, students participated in a variety of activities such as pagoda rituals and praying for peace. They also took part in traditional Lao and Cambodian New Year rituals, such as tying white threads around each other's wrists and joyfully splashing water on one another, wishing for happiness, good health, and prosperity in the year to come.

This is annually organized aiming to provide students staying far from home with an opportunity to celebrate their New Year holidays in a warm atmosphere of solidarity and special friendship of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.
