International scientific conference “Peace building role of diplomacy from past to present”

The International scientific conference “50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification: Peace building role of diplomacy from past to present” was held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on April 23.

President Luong Cuong and Party Central Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son together with many leaders of central departments, ministries, veterans, historical witnesses, domestic and international scientists...attended the event. Virtually present at the conference in Khanh Hoa Province was Le Huu Hoang, Member of Khanh Hoa Provincial Standing Party Committee, Standing Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Standing Party Committee of Provincial People’s Committee.

The victory of April 30, 1975 was an extremely important event in the Vietnamese history. Half a century has passed, but the historical significance and profound lessons from the victory of April 30, 1975 for Vietnamese diplomacy in creating peace, protecting and building the homeland retain their value, bearing profound national and contemporary meanings.

The conference focused on Vietnamese diplomacy and historic victory April 30, 1975; the pioneering role of foreign affairs in creating and maintaining peace, stability and prosperity and enhancing the country's position in the new era.

The representatives also shared experience of diplomacy in promoting dialogue, resolving disputes, and creating peace in the current situation.
