Two-day national funeral for Khamtay Siphandone

Following the State's announcement and implementing the direction of the Standing Committee of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee has declared a two-day national funeral on April 4 and 5 for Khamtay Siphandone, former President of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, former State President and former Prime Minister and former Minister of National Defence of Laos.

During the mourning period, offices and other public places fly flags at half-mast and all public entertainment events are suspended.
