World Autism Awareness Day “For an autism-friendly community” marked

Yersin Nha Trang General Hospital coordinated with the Provincial Center for Rehabilitation and Education for Disabled Children to celebrate the World Autism Awareness Day 2025 “For an autism-friendly community” on April 2.

Teachers and doctors provided information to 48 autistic children and their parents about autism, helping them understand the emotions and experiences of affected children through clips, images and illustrative documents. They were also introduced to diagnosis and intervention methods and family coordination strategies for supporting autistic children. Additionally, the children engaged in interactive activities, including physical games with picture-pasting, color recognition and art performances.

Yersin Nha Trang General Hospital is among the first medical facilities in the province to comprehensively implement diagnostic and intervention services for children with autism. Over the past year, the hospital's Autism Spectrum Disorder Intervention Department has conducted autism screenings for more than 300 children and provided intervention support for over 50 children.
