Sharing difficulties

Following the passing of her grandparents and parents due to serious illnesses, Huynh Pham Ngan Ha (born in 2007, Dien Phuoc Commune, Dien Khanh District) was left to live alone.  The Women's Union of Dien Phuoc Commune has sought donations to keep the child on track to complete her education. Under the Child sponsorship program, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Lan, Chief of the Women's Union of Pho Thien Village (Dien Phuoc Commune) agreed to become Huynh Pham Ngan Ha’s sponsor.

Since 2023, her sponsor and other benefactors have donated VND200,000 to 500,000/month, along with other necessities, clothes, books, etc. She is living with her maternal grandparents and uncle in Dien Lac Commune (Dien Khanh). Every week, she returns home to burn incense and clean the house.

She said, “I am deeply grateful for the support that has encouraged me and helped me through difficult times. I will do my best in the upcoming exam to pursue my dream of attending university. In the future, when I graduate, I hope to have a stable job so that I can give back and support other children facing challenges.”

According to Nguyen Hoang Van Ha, Vice-Chairperson of the Provincial Women's Union, in recent times, in addition to initiatives supporting children in need, the Union at all levels has actively promoted legal education on children's rights. This includes organizing training courses to enhance knowledge and skills in caring for disabled and orphaned children, preventing violence and child abuse, providing life skills and self-defense training, as well as ensuring child care, education, and protection.

The efforts are dedicated to empowering children by providing them with the opportunities and resources to lead active lives for a better future; and raising awareness of children and their caregivers about children's rights. In the coming time, the Union at all levels will continue to mobilize resources to support the disadvantaged; promoting the Union’s role in ensuring children’s rights and well-being.
