Dolphin pod spotted off Nha Trang coast

A pod of over 100 dolphins was spotted off Nha Trang coast by 44-year-old Phan Thanh Van and his friends on May 18 while they were out fishing. 

A pod of over 100 dolphins was spotted off Nha Trang coast on the afternoon of May 18.

According to Phan Thanh Van, the dolphins appeared about 50 meters from their fishing canoe. It was amazing to see them rolling together, splashing, curling and twisting with their tails slapping the air as they leapt in and out of the water.

According to Dam Hai Van, Head of Nha Trang Bay Management Board, in recent years, dolphins have been seen swimming close to coast of Nha Trang Bay. The increasing sightings are a positive sign for the improvement of the environmental condition and water quality in Nha Trang Bay as well as effective implementation of Nha Trang Bay Recovery Master Plan until 2030 by the Provincial People's Committee.
