Khanh Hoa strengthens strategic cooperation with Northern Territory of Australia

Within the framework of a working trip to Australia, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Delegation led by Dinh Van Thieu, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee had a working session on May 19 with Hayley Richard, Chief Executive Officer of the Department of Trade, Business and Asian Relations of the Northern Territory of Australia together with senior representatives of local authorities.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed the details of the cooperation plan for the period 2023 - 2028; and discussed strategic cooperation areas such as marine aquaculture; education and training; trade and tourism. Committed to the comprehensive partnership between the two countries, the Khanh Hoa provincial leaders expressed their desire to strengthen cooperation with the Northern Territory Government in areas of mutual strength.

Specifically, Khanh Hoa Province proposed enhancing collaboration with Northern Australia by initiating exchange programs for lecturers, teachers and experts. Additionally, the province seeks to establish partnerships between Khanh Hoa University and universities in Northern Australia to facilitate joint training, scientific research and student exchange programs.

In addition, the province hoped to coordinate in sending skilled workers to work in Northern Australia in such areas as healthcare, high-tech agriculture, and tourism; organizing short-term training courses and internships and welcoming Australian experts to support local training efforts, contributing to ultimately enhancing human resource quality for sustainable development. The Northern Territory government hoped to coordinate with Khanh Hoa on initiatives to modernize the education system, promote innovation in teaching methods, integrate technology and enhance practical skills for learners.
