Responding to World Oceans Day, National Sea and Island Week 2025

The Department of Agriculture and Environment has just issued documents to local departments, agencies, political and social organizations, and the People’s Committees of coastal districts and towns on organizing activities in response to the World Oceans Day (June 8) and the National Sea and Island Week 2025 (June 1-8), in accordance with the direction of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.

Accordingly, the Department of Agriculture and Environment requested relevant units from now until the end of June to strengthen communication on the Sea and Islands Week in conjunction with the World Oceans Day 2025 in line with the orientation of marine economic development, environmental protection, climate change response and digital transformation; organize seminars, talks and forums on the application of science and technology in the management and sustainable use of marine resources; and share effective models of domestic solid waste classification at source on islands and in coastal areas.

The World Oceans Day 2025 is themed “Wonder: Sustaining What Sustains Us” and the National Sea and Island Week 2025 is themed “Green Technology for Sustainable Oceans”.
