100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day celebrated

On June 18, Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee celebrated the 100th Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - 2025).

Present at the event were Nghiem Xuan Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Khac Toan, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People’s Council, Secretary of Provincial Party Agencies; Nguyen Tan Tuan, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of Provincial People’s Committee; Tran Thu Mai, Member of Khanh Hoa Provincial Standing Party Committee, Chairperson of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Agencies together with members of Khanh Hoa Provincial Permanent Party Committee, members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee; representatives of the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's advisory agencies; leaders of the affiliated Party Committees; departments, agencies, socio-political organizations; the Provincial Journalists’ Association; provincial press agencies; and nearly 300 journalists of provincial press agencies and representative offices of central press agencies.

Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee Nghiem Xuan Thanh reviewed the history of the formation and development of the Vietnamese revolutionary press in general, and Khanh Hoa press in particular; the role and importance of the press in contributing to the construction and socio-economic development of the province; delivering political, socio-economic news.

Provincial Party Secretary Nghiem Xuan Thanh emphasized the need for press agencies and journalists to remain committed to their shared mission to further enhance the role of the press as a powerful instrument and effective tool of the Party in enhancing the public orientation and shaping ideological discourse; propagandizing laws and policies, strengthening national unity, promoting local cultural values; accelerating digital transformation and innovation, and prioritizing professional development, etc.

This year’s Khanh Hoa Press Awards received nearly 116 entries across various types of journalism with 22 outstanding works recognized and awarded. Khanh Hoa News won 2 first prizes, 2 second, 4 third and 6 consolation prizes.

Additionally, the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 18 groups and 31 individuals with outstanding achievements in propaganda contributing to the provincial development on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. They included 2 groups and 2 individuals of Khanh Hoa News.
