First generation of university graduates who began studies at Covid-19 onset

The first generation of students who began their studies at university during the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic have now graduated. Entering as freshmen in 2021, they navigated the unprecedented challenges due to the global crisis. 4 years later, on June 21, 2025, hundreds of students of that generation were proudly awarded their degrees, marking an important milestone in their challenging learning journey, including those at Pacific Ocean University.

Navigating through hard times

At the graduation ceremony, the new graduates of Pacific University were awarded degrees in the following majors: Information Technology, Accounting, Finance - Banking, Business Administration, Law, Tourism, English Language and Oriental Studies (Korean Studies and Chinese Studies). 2 students were graded Excellent and 22 Good with 6 of them honored as Valedictorians in their majors.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. PhD. Dao Van Dong, Principal of the university, stated, "The knowledge and skills students acquired during their studies form a solid foundation. I believe with the ambition and determination, the generation that had steadfastly overcome Covid-19 challenges, will successfully apply what they've learned in real-world settings and in their careers."

Vuong Thanh Tuyen, valedictorian of Information Technology, currently a programmer at SweetSoft Joint Stock Company said, "We had to face great difficulties during the Covid-19 pandemic, but those hardships strengthened our resilience which empowered us to adapt, learn, and thrive in an entirely new environment, leading us to the accomplishments today.”

Committed to inspiring motivation and cultivating aspirations

Present at the graduation ceremony, Phan Thanh Vinh, the father of Phan Vu Uyen Minh, valedictorian of Oriental Studies (majoring in Chinese Studies) said, "The lectures’ dedication and efforts have fostered a supportive and inspiring learning environment, empowering students to overcome their challenging circumstances,” adding that Phan Vu Uyen Minh will continue her fully funded Master's degree in Translation at Yunnan Normal University (China) from September this year.

The 2025 graduation ceremony recognized the efforts of learners who braved the unprecedented challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic while showcasing the university’s academic accomplishments. The Principal of Pacific University emphasized the institution’s ongoing commitment to enhancing academic quality. Its training programs have achieved national accreditation, with several authorized to offer master's degrees and progressing toward doctoral training.

Together with the encouragement and support of lecturers and families, students were motivated and inspired to overcome difficulties and achieve their initial successes. With the knowledge and skills they’ve gained, they are believed to make meaningful contributions to society in the era of international integration.
