Spreading positive image of coast guard forces

Over years, the learning and following of President Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and lifestyle has become a consistent content and a great motivation, contributing to building an exemplary strong Party at the Coast Guard Region 3 Command, thus not only improving the political qualities, morality and lifestyle of officers and soldiers, but also spreading the image of Coast Guard forces, courageous, devoted and deeply connected with local people; committed to their service, and always ready to sacrifice for the nation’s independence and sovereignty.

At the Command of Coast Guard Region 3, learning and following Uncle Ho's example is concretized through practical actions, associated with tasks and responsibilities of each individual, groups and the entire unit. In terms of mass mobilization, during the “Vietnam coast guard standing by fishermen” program, Coast Guard officers and soldiers coming to every village, hamlet and fishing boat, delivering heartfelt gifts, has become a familiar and cherished image in coastal communities.

The Coast Guard Region 3 Command has organized hundreds of law dissemination sessions, presented more than 50,000 national flags, tens of thousands of gifts, scholarships, bicycles and medicines to people in need. Thereby, it has given fishermen more strength to cling to the fishing grounds and protect the national maritime sovereignty.

Captain Tran Van Duc, Political Commissar of Coast Guard Ship 8001, said, “We draw inspiration from Uncle Ho’s close and friendly behaviors as well as his dedication, perseverance, and sense of duty. Each smile from the fishermen motivates us to overcome every hardship and challenge.”

The learning has also been concretized through carrying out political task, protecting sovereignty, maintaining law, order and security in assigned waters. From 2016 to 2025, the unit led and coordinated efforts to combat over 110 cases involving drug trafficking, smuggling, and trade fraud at sea. Nearly 200 violators were apprehended, with administrative fines exceeding VND 10 billion, etc., contributing more than VND 226 billion to the state budget.

In addition, the search and rescue operations have been carried out swiftly and efficiently. Over the past 10 years, the unit has successfully saved 23 vehicles and 606 fishermen in distress at sea, contributing to excellent completion of all assigned tasks

Over the years, the Party Committee and Command of Coast Guard Region 3 have always identified studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle as a key and regular political task; thereby promoting emulation movements, focusing on promoting the exemplary role of the leading cadres, especially the leader.

As a result, many creative and effective learning models contributed to creating positive changes in the awareness and actions of cadres, party members and the masses, then raise awareness in cultivating and training political qualities, ethics, lifestyle in everyday acuities and at work, contributing to improving the leadership capacity and the overall quality of the unit.

Captain Tran Huu Ngoc of Coast Guard Ship 8005 said, "Following Uncle Ho begins with simple daily actions and responsibilities. Even the smallest deeds can have a meaningful impact. It’s about patience, dedication, and wholehearted commitment to comrades and the people"

Assessing the results of 10 years of implementing Directive No. 05 of the Politburo on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, Colonel Le Van Tu, Party Secretary, Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 3 affirmed, "Learning and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle is not only a political task but has become an internal need, a cultural standard and a motivation for all officers and soldiers, contributing to fostering the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" - Coast Guard soldiers in the new era".

After 10 years of implementing Directive No. 05, learning and following Uncle Ho at the Coast Guard Region 3 Command has become deeply ingrained within every Party cell, officer, and soldier, fostered strong unity and unwavering determination to fulfill all assigned tasks with excellence, solidifying the unit’s role as a key force in safeguarding national sovereignty, security, order and maritime safety.
