Khanh Hoa youth: Energetic support for citizens navigating public services

Since early July, the Youth Unions of communes and wards in Khanh Hoa Province have been engaged in volunteering to support residents in completing administrative procedures at public administrative service centers. Their efforts have been praised by the local community.

Enthusiastic and effective support

At the Dong Hai Ward Public Administration Service Center, residents are enthusiastically supported and guided by members of the Youth Union and Dong Hai Ward Police. Cao Thi Bich Lieu (Ward 7, Dong Hai Ward) said, “I came to the ward Public Administration Service Center to apply for the re-issue of my birth certificate. I was enthusiastically guided by the Youth Union members to fill out my forms quickly. I am so happy.”

According to Nguyen Le Anh Thu, Vice-Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward, concurrently Secretary of the Dong Hai Ward Youth Union, embracing the motto "Each member is a propagandist and volunteer", the Ward Youth Union has established a team of youth volunteers to support people in the first days of the newly-established ward’s operation. Since July 1, the unit has mobilized 20 members to assist people with administrative procedures, including looking up, registering, and submitting documents online; helping with VNeID app installation; and streamlining processes to save time and improve efficiency, especially for the elderly.

Coming to Nha Trang Ward Public Administration Service Center to complete land use procedures, Nguyen Thi Mui (Nha Trang Ward) was welcomed by the Youth Union members and guided through specific steps. “The Youth Union members guided me to get a queue number for administrative procedures. Some even helped the elderly fill out their forms," she said.

Along with supporting people to do administrative procedures at the ward's Public Administration Service Center, since the beginning of July, Nha Trang Ward Youth Union has also deployed a volunteer team at the Provincial Public Administration Service Center. According to Le Nguyen Thai Minh, Vice-Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward, concurrently Secretary of Nha Trang Ward Youth Union,  the ward's Youth Union organized 2 groups, each consisting of 8 members to guide people through administrative procedures and support getting queue numbers at the Provincial Public Administration Service Center and Nha Trang Ward Public Administration Service Center.

Volunteers’ teams sustained

In communes and wards in the province, the Youth Union has promoted the spirit of volunteerism in supporting people in carrying out administrative procedures. According to Phan Van Truong, Deputy Secretary of the Phan Rang Ward Youth Union, from July 1, the Ward Youth Union has assigned more than 10 Youth Union members to support people in carrying out administrative procedures from Monday to Friday until the end of August. The activity is to ease the workload of staff at the Ward Public Administration Service Center, while showcasing the spirit of enthusiasm and volunteerism. It also highlights the vibrant and community-minded image of Phan Rang Ward’s youth, dynamic, responsible and committed to making a positive impact.

“I came to Phan Rang Ward Public Administration Service Center for a land use right certificate for the first time. I was guided enthusiastically by the Youth Union members and staff of the center. I am satisfied with the attitude and sense of responsibility here,” said Nguyen Huu Hiep, a resident of Phan Rang Ward.

According to To Thi Tuyet Ngan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, the Provincial Youth Union has deployed youth volunteer teams to support the operation of the two-tier local government system and provide online public services at the grassroots level. The volunteers demonstrate enthusiasm, a strong sense of responsibility, and solid IT skills, enabling them to perform their tasks effectively.

"The volunteer teams have operated effectively and received positive feedback. In the coming time, the Provincial Youth Union will continue to coordinate with localities to sustain the volunteering to contribute to ensuring smooth and effective operations at public administrative service centers in the province, promptly assisting both residents and businesses," she said.
