Site clearance has been completed along approximately 40.7 km of the entire route. In terms of construction, the 17.1 km section running through Lam Dong Province has been 97% complete. Meanwhile, the 23.9 km section in Khanh Hoa Province, despite facing challenges such as forest terrain and unpredictable weather, has surpassed 70% completion.
To speed up the project progress, the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board (investor) is closely coordinating with departments, localities and contractors to promptly remove difficulties and obstacles. "We are urging construction units to meet the project schedule and ensure capital disbursement," said Pham Minh Tan, Director of the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board.
With a total length of 63.32km and a total investment of more than VND1,495 billion, the road project from Ninh Son Commune to Ta Nang intersection is divided into 2 components with the component 1, the section connecting Ninh Son Commune to Anh Dung Commune completed and put into use in December 2023. The component 2 of the project, the section connecting Anh Dung Commune to Ta Nang intersection has a total length of 41km, with a total investment of more than VND1,095 billion. This is a challenging component as the route passes through dense forests, streams, and rugged terrain marked by steep hills and deep ravines. It includes a 23.9 km section in Anh Dung Commune and a 17.1 km stretch through Ta Nang Commune. This road section is designed with a 9m-wide roadbed, including an 8 m-wide paved surface and 1-meter-wide sidewalks on each side with a designated speed limit of 50-60km/hour.
With great determination, 4 contractors are mobilizing more than 120 vehicles and more than 200 workers and engineers to accelerate the progress. Le Van Sang, Technical Officer at the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, emphasized, “Recognizing this as a key transport project for regional connectivity between Southern Khanh Hoa and the Southern Central Highlands, we have mobilized construction units to concentrate machinery, equipment, and personnel, making the most of favorable weather conditions to stay on schedule. Consulting and supervising teams have been directed to closely monitor site activities to ensure quality and visual standards. We aim to open the route in early September and complete all construction items by the end of 2025, in line with the Provincial People's Committee’s plan.”

Inter-regional transport connection
When completed, the road project from Ninh Son Commune to Ta Nang Intersection will create a seamless, inter-regional traffic connection from the Southern Central Highlands to National Highway 20, National Highway 27, North-South Expressway, National Highway 1 and Ca Na General Seaport, helping to shorten the travel distance and time, thus promoting local trade and tourism.
The expanding road will breathe new life into the surrounding area, elevating both its appearance and potential. According to Che Quang Dung, Head of the Economic Department of Anh Dung Commune, "The Ninh Son - Ta Nang route through Anh Dung Commune accounts for 80% of the total length. The new route will facilitate travel and good transportation.
To unlock the full potential of this route, the commune is planning to develop trade, services, and tourism along both sides of the road, particularly in the central area. Businesses will be mobilized to invest, capitalizing on available land resources, local agricultural products, and the advantages of improved transport infrastructure.
The road project from Ninh Son Commune to Ta Nang Crossroads will be a driving force for economic development, opening up opportunities for both the Southern Central Highlands and the southern part of the province. Thanks to the collective efforts of all parties involved, the long-standing vision of a road through the forest is becoming a reality, fostering inter-regional development and paving the way for local communities to build a more prosperous and connected future.
