Assisting needy students with academic pursuits

Before the start of the new school year 2025 - 2026, many organizations, businesses and individuals in Khanh Hoa Province have organized programs and activities to support disadvantaged students.

On August 28, Dong Hai Ward Youth Union coordinated with Brigade 955, Naval Region 4 and Pham Ngoc Anh Thu, a student of Class 7/9, Tran Phu High School (Dong Hai Ward) to organize a student financial aid program to award a scholarship worth VND2 million to Tran Ngoc Duy, Class 6A3, Tran Hung Dao High School and gifts worth VND500,000 each to needy students in the ward.

Nguyen Le Anh Thu, Vice-Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Hai Ward, Secretary of Dong Hai Ward Youth Union, said, “The grants are dedicated to empowering poor students to chase their dreams and get the education they deserve.”

With a kind heart, Pham Ngoc Anh Thu volunteered to use her VND1.5 million prize from a swimming competition to buy gifts for students in need, hoping to support their learning and brighten their future.

Earlier, a delegation of Phuoc Huu Commune jointly with Ecotech Tra Vinh Renewable Energy Joint Stock Company, Tra Vinh 1 Wind Power Joint Stock Company and Vietnam Green Roof Energy Co. Ltd. had organized a meaningful student financial aid program, offering 10 gifts (worth VND500,000/gift) to poor families; 20 scholarships worth VND1 million/gift, 1 special scholarship worth VND3 million to a student suffering a serious illness; 90 gifts (worth VND350,000/gift) to disadvantaged students and a "Green Library" project worth VND34 million to Hoai Trung Primary School.

According to Vo Duc Linh, Vice-Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phuoc Huu Commune, Secretary of the Phuoc Huu Commune Youth Union, the Commune Youth Union continues to connect with other organizations and individuals inside and outside the province to support students in poverty to thrive and fulfill their potential.

At Phuoc Khang Primary and Junior High School (Thuan Bac Commune), where most of the students are ethnic minority children in need, in August, the school's Board of Directors coordinated with benefactors inside and outside the province to give several meaningful gifts to primary and high school students.

Teacher Nguyen Thi The, Principal of Phuoc Khang Primary and Junior High School, said, "By August 29, the school had coordinated with benefactors to donate 323 uniforms to primary school students, 409 P.E clothes to all students in the school and 125 uniforms to high school students. In addition to uniforms, school supplies and necessities were given, helping children to access better learning conditions."

Also in August, the Provincial Red Cross coordinated with Prudential Vietnam Life Insurance Co. Ltd. to organize a student financial aid program, giving 50 gifts, including calculators, backpacks, notebooks and pens (worth VND1 million/gift) to disadvantaged students of junior high schools in Dong Hai Ward.

As planned, on August 30, the Provincial Red Cross Society continued to coordinate with Prudential Vietnam Life Insurance Co. Ltd. to organize the student financial aid program, offering 50 gifts, including calculators, backpacks, notebooks and pens (worth VND1 million/gift) to disadvantaged students of junior high schools in Dien Khanh Commune.

There are many other practical and meaningful activities implemented by organizations, businesses and individuals in the province, helping poor students reduce some of the financial burdens for the new school year 2025-2026; assisting needy students with their academic pursuits.
