Groundbreaking ceremony kicks off 4 key projects marking 80th National Day

On August 19, Khanh Hoa Province along with other localities nationwide simultaneously organized the groundbreaking ceremony for 4 key construction projects in Khanh Hoa, including Nha Trang City mixed-use urban area project; Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics’ training and research facility (UEH Nexus Campus Nha Trang); Doc Da Trang Industrial Park infrastructure construction and business and social housing in Thanh Hai resettlement area with a total investment capital of nearly VND20,200 billion. 

The groundbreaking and inauguration ceremony is broadcast live on KTV (Khanh Hoa Newspaper, Radio and Television), connected with the central host at the National Exhibition and Fair Center (Hanoi City) and 4 construction sites in the province.

Nha Trang City Mixed-Use Urban Area, the first project invested by Sun Group in Khanh Hoa Province, is a world-class riverside and coastal urban hub where tourism, entertainment, and residential living seamlessly converge. It becomes the driving force to stimulate the night-time economy of Khanh Hoa Province. The project has a scale of more than 226 ha with a total investment of more than VND17,000 billion. Strategically positioned in the urban core of Khanh Hoa Province, Nha Trang City Mixed-Use Urban Area enjoys exceptional connectivity, bordered by the province’s main belt road and surrounded by essential public amenities, including schools, hospitals, supermarkets, and office complexes. Looking ahead, the area is set to welcome a vibrant public park and the future administrative center of Khanh Hoa Province.

With a unique design of 3 large islands, 3 prominent subdivisions, becoming an urban architectural symbol of the Khanh Hoa land of agarwood and bird's nests", the project includes Zone 1 known as a "Smart Ecological Urban Peninsula", 68.55 ha, adjacent to the new administrative center of Khanh Hoa Province with residential buildings combined with bustling commercial services; Zone 2 as an "International Amusement Park Island", 51ha consisting of 2 main parks, an international theme park and a public park oriented to be the largest high-end entertainment ecosystem in Khanh Hoa Province", a venue for cultural and entertainment activities around the clock; and Zone 3 called "Paradise Island", 44ha, a luxurious, isolated gateway exclusively for luxurious retreat in Nha Trang.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the 4 projects in Khanh Hoa, Tran Quoc Nam, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of the province, emphasized the strategic importance of the 4 projects in driving local socio-economic growth. The event not only marked the beginning of 4 major projects, but also demonstrated the determination of the Party Committee, government, citizens and business community to build a unique, modern, green and smart Khanh Hoa. In order to ensure timely progress, high quality and efficiency of the projects, he requested departments, agencies and localities to proactively coordinate and support investors; and urged investors to promote their capacity, credibility and determination to put the projects into operation soon, contributing to the overall development of Khanh Hoa Province.

. Present at the groundbreaking ceremony for UEH Nexus Campus Nha Trang were Nguyen Long Bien, Member of Khanh Hoa Provincial Standing Party Committee, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Tran Thu Mai, Member of Khanh Hoa Provincial Standing Party Committee, Chairperson of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Vo Hoan Hai, Member of Khanh Hoa Provincial Standing Party Committee, Director of the Department of Education and Training; and former provincial leaders.

The UEH Nexus Campus Nha Trang project, 2.1ha, in the Bac Hon Ong Vocational School Area with a total investment of VND294 billion. When put into operation, UEH Nexus Campus Nha Trang is designed to serve 2,000 students, 90 staff, a dormitory for 376 students, along with dedicated spaces for research, innovation, and community engagement. UEH Nexus Campus Nha Trang is expected to foster a seamless and enriching environment for both learning and living. The project is expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of 2026. UEH Nexus Campus will serve high-quality education, research and collaboration with scholars, students and enterprises at home and abroad.

Nguyen Long Bien emphasized that the groundbreaking ceremony of the UEH Nexus Campus Nha Trang Project is a particularly important political, economic and social event of the province. This is not only an opportunity to promote Khanh Hoa as a dynamic and attractive destination for domestic and foreign investors, but also affirms the commitment of Khanh Hoa Province to identifying education and training as one of the key pillars of sustainable development. The event demonstrates the strategic, sustainable and effective cooperation relationship between Khanh Hoa Province and Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics.

. Present at the groundbreaking ceremony for Doc Da Trang Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment and Business Project were Pham Thi Xuan Trang, Vice-Chairperson of the Provincial People's Council, and Nguyen Van Thien, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

Doc Da Trang Industrial Park project was approved by the Prime Minister in principle on March 18, 2024 and was granted an investment registration certificate by the Van Phong Economic Zone Management Board. Viglacera Yen My Industrial Park Development Joint Stock Company is the investor. The project covers an area of 288ha in Van Hung and Bac Ninh Hoa communes, with a total investment capital of more than VND1,807 billion and an operating period of 50 years. When put into operation, the project will attract about 16,000 workers. The industries targeted to attract to the Industrial Park include clean industry, processing industry, high-tech manufacturing, precision mechanics, electronics, supporting industry, warehouses, etc.

When put into operation, Doc Da Trang Industrial Park project will contribute to accelerating the process of economic restructuring of the province towards industrialization and modernization, contributing to job creation, increasing income for workers, and creating revenue for the state budget, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality in general and Van Phong Economic Zone in particular. Tran Xuan Hung, Director of Viglacera Yen My Industrial Park Development Joint Stock Company (investor of Doc Da Trang Industrial Park) said, “After the groundbreaking ceremony, Viglacera Yen My Industrial Park Development Joint Stock Company is committed to focus all resources, build synchronous infrastructure, on schedule according to the plan. Hopefully, the project will be completed soon, creating a favorable investment environment to contribute to the local budget, creating jobs for about 16,000 workers in the Industrial Park, as well as help improve income and life quality of local people.

Vice-Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Pham Thi Xuan Trang emphasized, “Provincial leaders expect Doc Da Trang Industrial Park when completed will become a model, modern industrial park with a synchronous infrastructure system, meeting meets high standards for environmental sustainability and workplace conditions. Once completed, the project is expected to serve as a key driver of economic restructuring, accelerating Khanh Hoa’s transition toward industrialization and modernization, helping generate thousands of jobs, raise local incomes, and enhance quality of life. Besides, the presence of high-tech, environmentally friendly enterprises in the industrial park will contribute to improving production capacity, product value and competitiveness of Khanh Hoa's economy on the regional and international map.”

The social housing in Thanh Hai resettlement area, invested by Sao Bien Real Estate Co. Ltd. is built in Thanh Hai Industrial Park Resettlement Area, with a total investment of VND 1,358 billion, on an area of over 19,150m2. The construction includes 4 apartment blocks (A1, A2, B1, B2) with 15 floors and 1 technical roof floor, with a maximum height of 54.4m. The project is expected to be completed and put into use in the second quarter of 2027.

The project is designed to provide 1,352 apartments, 30 - 70 m2 each, serving approximately 5,408 people. This is one of the typical projects in the program to develop 1 million social housing units by 2030 and is planned as a model of ESG (environmental, social and governance) and Smart principles.

Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trinh Minh Hoang said, “The Social Housing Project in Thanh Hai Resettlement Area invested by Sao Bien Real Estate Company Limited, a member of Hoang Quan Group, will contribute to completing the goal of the Project ‘Investing in the construction of at least build at least 1 million social housing apartments for low-income earners and workers at industrial parks nationwide in the period 2021 – 2030’, demonstrating the collaboration between the State, enterprises and local people.”

On this occasion, Hoang Quan Group and the investor awarded VND500 million in scholarships to Nguyen Trai High School (Phan Rang Ward) to help needy students.
