This is an opportunity for doctors to access in-depth knowledge, share experiences and discuss complex cases, opening up many new treatment directions, especially the application of modern techniques such as 3D printing and individualized surgery.

At Hospital 22-12 (Nha Trang Ward), in September, the hospital benefited from the transfer of endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) technique, a breakthrough in early diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal cancer from Japanese experts. Professor, PhD. Tomohiko Richard Ohya, Consultant of the Department of Endoscopy at Jikei University Hospital, Japan, said, “Training plays a very important role in enhancing medical expertise, particularly through the use of modern simulation technologies. Expanding training programs and providing structured guidance in endoscopic techniques can significantly improve early cancer detection, shifting the focus from reactive treatment to proactive diagnosis before symptoms appear. Therefore, international cooperation in training and technology transfer is extremely necessary.

Promoting international cooperation

Dr. Phan Huu Chinh, Director of Khanh Hoa General Hospital, said, “In recent years, the hospital has promoted cooperation with many hospitals regionally and internationally. doctors have been sent to short-term training courses abroad; while experts have been welcomed to take part in seminars at the hospital. This activity not only aims to improve healthcare services, but also helps expand international cooperation relationships and opens up new directions in disease treatment.

At the international scientific conference on orthopedic surgery held at Khanh Hoa General Hospital, Dr. Kai-Cheng Lin from Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital (Taiwan, China) said, “The cooperation between the two hospitals has been established with many practical activities such as professional training, knowledge exchange and sending doctors for further study. This conference is an opportunity for doctors from Taiwan (China), Ho Chi Minh City and Khanh Hoa to discuss, share experience and find solutions for challenging cases that pose significant difficulties in both countries. It is truly a valuable occasion to enhance treatment quality. I believe this partnership will continue to grow stronger, yielding effective long-term outcomes.”

International cooperation in health care is a solution for the Khanh Hoa health sector to access advanced treatment techniques in the world. Currently, the province has 15 general and specialized hospitals at the provincial level, 13 reserve facilities, and 15 regional health centers.
