Total investment of over VND1,385 billion

Van Thang Resettlement Area Project Phase 1 (Van Thang Commune and Tu Bong Commune) was approved for construction investment under the Provincial People's Committee’s Decision No. 3208, dated December 12, 2024, with the construction design under Decision No. 2291, dated June 19, 2025, by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Ninh District (former).

Accordingly, the project has a total investment of more than VND1,385 billion, with the Provincial Development Project Management Board as the investor. The land use and site clearance area for the entire Van Thang Resettlement Area is about 99.89ha, including 70.14 ha of the Van Thang Resettlement Area Project Phase 1 with components such as the traffic system, 6 centralized parking lots and ground leveling works.

In addition, the project’s design incorporates key social infrastructure, including one kindergarten, one primary school, one secondary school, and one medical station. It also features essential urban systems such as water supply and drainage, lighting, telecommunications and public parks. The land area for housing is 72.72 m2/person; the population size of the whole area is 6,500 - 7,000 (5,822 people/1,446 resettlement lots in phase 1). The project is scheduled for implementation during the period 2024 - 2027.

According to Nguyen Thanh Hien, Director of the Provincial Development Project Management Board, the investment in the Van Thang Resettlement Area Project is of great significance in providing accommodation for those affected by key investment projects and other projects in Van Phong Economic Zone and Van Ninh District (formerly). The Prime Minister and the Provincial People's Committee have approved the investment policy of many large urban area projects in this area. The project construction is expected to start on December 19 to mark the 14th National Congress of the Party and finish before December 31, 2026.

Careful preparation for the ground-breaking

The project has completed the signing of contracts with the construction contractor and the construction insurance contractor. The investor is organizing the selection of a construction supervision consultant. Site clearance operations are being undertaken by the Van Ninh Land Fund Development Center Branch. Land measurement and inventory are being implemented.

Localities are posting compensation and support plans. According to the capital plan, in 2025, the project will be allocated more than VND 457 billion. Accumulated disbursement up to September 30 reached nearly VND260 billion, with full disbursement of the annual allocation expected by year-end.

The Provincial Development Project Management Board is finalizing preparations and conducting site reviews to ensure a compliant handover to the contractor for construction commencement.
