Khanh Hoa Province organized a tourism promotion conference in Milan, Italy on October 6 to introduce the potential, strengths and diverse tourism offerings of Khanh Hoa to Italian businesses and partners. The event also served as a platform to foster bilateral cooperation and business opportunities, marking a key highlight of the Khanh Hoa delegation’s working visit to Italy and Switzerland.
Present at the event were Nguyen Khac Toan, Standing Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee; Tran Thu Mai, Member of Khanh Hoa Provincial Standing Party Committee, Standing Vice-Chairperson of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Trinh Minh Hoang, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representative of the Italy Vietnam Chamber of Commerce (CCIV), Milan City Business Association, and 80 delegates representing businesses from Italy and Khanh Hoa Province.

Go far, go together
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Khac Toan emphasized that Khanh Hoa is known as the land of agarwood and bird's nests, blessed with an abundance of rich, diverse, and stunning natural resources. With its expansive coastline and typical dry forest ecosystem, Khanh Hoa boasts famous landscapes with unique historical and cultural values.
Khanh Hoa has become one of the leading tourist centers in Vietnam, loved by international tourists. In 2024, the province welcomed 4.8 million international visitors, with 4.1 million international visitors in the first 9 months of 2025. Cam Ranh International Airport has been recognized to be in the top 4 busiest and most modern international airports in Vietnam, with an increasing number of direct international flights to South Korea, China, Thailand, Singapore, Russia, Poland, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and so on.

In the new development process, Khanh Hoa identifies industry, energy and tourism as breakthrough pillars. Regarding tourism, the province focuses on affirming the international destinations of Nha Trang, Van Phong, Cam Ranh, Vinh Hy and Ninh Chu; striving to make tourism a spearhead economic sector, accounting for over 15% of GRDP and 20% of budget revenue by 2030. Italy has been identified as a highly promising market with significant potential for tourism cooperation and investment. "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.". “We hope this program will help Italian tourism businesses gain deeper insights into Khanh Hoa, foster meaningful connections, and collaborate in developing compelling tourism offerings, “said Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Khac Toan.
Also at the conference, provincial leaders outlined the provincial strategic development orientation, emphasizing high-tech industry, semiconductor industry, artificial intelligence and ocean technology associated with the construction of a national data center. In the energy sector, the province is advancing wind, solar, and LNG power, while laying the groundwork for future nuclear energy projects to position Khanh Hoa as a national energy hub.
Italian businesses show interest in Khanh Hoa tourism
Within the framework of the conference, Khanh Hoa Province screened a tourism introduction video, featuring provincial tourism, and displayed products and promotional publications showcasing high-end resorts in Nha Trang, Bai Dai, and Van Phong. Truong Van Tien, Director of the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion, emphasized the strengths of Khanh Hoa's coastal resort tourism. Currently, the whole province has 1,444 accommodation establishments with more than 71,110 rooms, including 106 three to five stars with 27,261 rooms (accounting for 40% of the total number of rooms). The province also offers a vibrant array of entertainment services, ranging from cultural performances and art shows to exhilarating sea sports and marine activities.

Speaking at the conference, Dang Minh Tung, Chief Representative of Vietnam Airlines in Italy said that currently the Milan - Hanoi air route has a frequency of 3 flights/week, expected to rise to 5 flights/week in the near future. This is a favorable condition to attract tourists to Khanh Hoa through connecting flights. Representatives of Milan travel agencies showed interest in air connectivity, particularly procedures to check luggage on connecting flights Milan - Hanoi - Cam Ranh. They also explored Khanh Hoa’s entertainment offerings and inquired about incentives available for famtrip groups. Selena Pizzocoli highly appreciated the information provided by the province and promised to introduce it to the Milan Business Association.
Grandmaster Zucca Ricacardo, Director of International Relations of the Fiwuk National Martial Arts Federation, who has traveled to Nha Trang many times, expressed his hope for support from the Khanh Hoa government in organizing trips for traditional martial arts athletes to compete in competitions, combined with tourism experiences. Meanwhile, several businesses proposed stronger promotional efforts to highlight Khanh Hoa as a destination, along with tailored tourism products that align with the preferences of Italian travelers.
Concluding the conference, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trinh Minh Hoang emphasized that Vietnam and Italy have a long-standing cooperative relationship, especially in the field of tourism. In the first 9 months of 2025, Khanh Hoa welcomed more than 4.1 million international tourist arrivals, including more than 3,500 Italian visitors. The launch of Vietnam Airlines’ Hanoi–Milan route has paved the way for seamless connections to Khanh Hoa, fostering stronger two-way tourism cooperation. He added, “With remarkable achievements and exceptional potential, I believe Khanh Hoa will become an ideal choice and a captivating destination for Italian travelers in the near future.”
