On October 9, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Delegation led by Nguyen Khac Toan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, visited and worked with the University of Lausanne, the Canton of Vaud, Switzerland.

Present at the event were Chu Thu Hang, Counselor of the Vietnamese Embassy in Switzerland; Tran Thu Mai, Member of Khanh Hoa Provincial Standing Party Committee, Standing Vice-Chairperson of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; and Trinh Minh Hoang, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, together with leaders of local departments and enterprises.
The delegation of the University of Lausanne included Professor Frédéric Herman, Rector of the University, along with leaders and staff of faculties and institutes; Alice Francillon, Deputy Head of the Foreign Affairs Department, Ministry of Finance, Territory and Sports of the Canton of Vaud.
At the meeting, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trinh Minh Hoang introduced the natural landscape, potential and economic strengths of Khanh Hoa; especially in the marine economy and tourism, with the strategy through 2030 to become a centrally-governed city with a smart, sustainable urban model with a distinct identity and strong international connectivity.

Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trinh Minh Hoang emphasized the special connection between Khanh Hoa and the University of Lausanne through the legacy of Dr. Alexandre Yersin, a distinguished scientist born in Vaud, studied at the University of Lausanne and spent most of his life living and working in Khanh Hoa until his passing.
The leaders of the University of Lausanne expressed their honor to welcome the delegation from Khanh Hoa Province; highly appreciated the cooperation opportunities with Khanh Hoa Province, especially in the fields of medicine and environment. The working session is an important step in advancing international cooperation, especially in the fields of education, health and science and technology.
